The stunning destination of Robin Hood’s Bay sets the scene for a memorable stay on the North Yorkshire coast, and this traditional cottage provides a comfortable base for families or friends to enjoy it. The property is just 100 metres from the beach, and beyond it, the village’s winding streets offer many nooks and crannies to explore, along with local businesses to support. Welcoming pubs, cosy cafes, and independent galleries are all nearby. Just along the coastline, the larger town of Whitby (6 miles) shares the same appeal. This endearing seafront town is known as a gothic hotspot, with its ancient, crumbling abbey set high above the town’s streets, famously known to have inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The town’s pubs all share stories of their haunted pasts, and regular ghost tours take place throughout the area. Beyond it, Sandsend Beach (8 miles) is a spot to comb for sea glass and admire the choppy waters.
This stunning stone cottage features charming décor with the odd touch of nautical inspiration, beautifully complementing the original beams and exposed stonework. The accommodation begins with a warm, appealing lounge, with a coal-effect electric fire casting a cosy glow and a wall-mounted Smart TV on hand for evening entertainment. Pass through a stable door to reach the kitchen/diner, a compact yet well-arranged space for enjoying three meals a day. Cottage steps lead up to three snug bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. Two larger bedrooms feature double beds and characterful feature fireplaces, while a final bunk bedroom accommodates guests in comfort (suitable for up to two adults or children).
The unique, multi-level garden maximises its outdoor space and provides incredible views. Step out onto the patio, where furniture and a BBQ allow you to unwind outdoors. From here, follow the external staircase up to the private, elevated terrace area, which is a perfect space to stop and admire the sea view. A parking permit is provided for the top car park, located a short walk away. You can drive down to unload at the property, but the car must be returned and parked in the car park throughout your stay.
