Escape with your loved ones to this picture-postcard cottage set in the Dorset hills above Eype on the National Trust's Golden Cap estate. Offering impressive sea and country views, it is just 3 miles from the market town of Bridport. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it's perfect for small families or groups of friends in search of a peaceful coastal retreat to call home while they explore the Jurassic Coast together. There is a direct public footpath from the cottage which is only 100m from the South West Coast Path, where you can walk to Seatown (1.6 miles) with a beach, award-winning pub and beachside sauna. Head down to dog-friendly Eype Beach (1 mile), or to the Symondsbury Estate (1.5 miles) to follow its many miles of magnificent trails. Further afield, make a beeline for Lyme Regis (10 miles), Charmouth (7.5 miles) which is a haven for fossil hunters, or West Bay (3 miles), all family friendly seaside towns and lots of nice places to eat.
Step inside the porch and make your way through to the sitting/dining room, where a pretty woodburner takes pride of place – the welcoming heart of the home. Cook up a storm in the kitchen, then gather around the table to share a casual meal. Afterwards, stretch out in front of the Smart TV in the sitting area to catch up on your favourite shows. When the day is done, climb the stairs from the kitchen and you will find two restful bedrooms – a pretty double and a handy twin. A large bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the layout.
Step out into the enclosed front garden and take a seat on the patio to drink in those amazing sea and country views. It is a lovely spot to let the little ones play or to share an alfresco meal. Reached via a private no-through lane (0.5 miles long), the cottage enjoys a real sense of peace and seclusion. Private parking is available for two cars.
