This welcoming holiday lodge, part of the 23-acre Coombe Meadow Lodges estate, shared with five similar properties, is ideal for a group of four friends or family. The peaceful grounds include a resident deer park, rivers, lakes and winding paths, giving you plenty of countryside to discover without leaving the site. Children can join the morning feeding runs to meet smaller animals, then search for a little magic in the fairy garden. The estate sits on the edge of Bodmin Moor, a designated Dark Sky Reserve, and is well placed for exploring the unspoiled North Cornwall landscape. Walk or cycle along the Camel Trail (1 mile), an 18-mile former railway route running through quiet countryside to Padstow. St Breward (1.5 miles) has a traditional pub, café and historic church, while St Tudy (3 miles) is home to a village store. To sample local ales, head to the pub in pretty Blisland (3 miles).
Step inside to bright open-plan kitchen, dining and living area which forms the lodge’s hub. Full-height ceilings create a light and airy feel, while efficient underfloor heating keeps the property warm. If it’s chilly, settle down beside the feature wood burner and watch a film on the Smart TV. Both bedrooms are on the ground floor – a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC, plus a separate twin bedroom. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC completes this level. Upstairs, children can disappear into their own large gated playroom, which comes fully stocked with toys.
Double veranda doors open onto an enclosed decked area with seating, so you can eat outside and enjoy your peaceful surroundings. Steps lead down to the property’s own lawn, with views across the wider lawns towards the river. Within the estate, you can go fishing, work out at the gym, enjoy picnics and watch the kids as they enjoy the outdoor play areas. There’s also an indoor soft play area for 5s and under. You’ll have parking for two cars in the on-site car park to the rear of the property.
