You can also spot the charming estuary village of Instow across the river from the quayside. A seasonal passenger ferry (running from Easter to the end of October) offers a scenic way to explore both sides of the River Torridge, or alternatively, it’s a 5-mile drive.

Step in through your own front door and into the lounge with a stone fireplace housing a wood burner, comfy seating, and a Smart TV. Head up three steps to the kitchen which is well equipped to cook a delicious breakfast, or a light snack. A door leads out from here to the conservatory which has a stylish table and chairs set, here you can enjoy your breakfast, or morning coffee while planning your day ahead. Completing the accommodation is a beautiful double bedroom with an en-suite shower room.

Just outside the conservatory is a rear enclosed shared courtyard with external steps heading up to the raised private terrace. Relax on the sun lounger or lovely seating with your favourite book, or enjoy a spot of al fresco dining with the charcoal BBQ. Please note, the owners occasionally pass through the courtyard to access their utility room/outbuilding, but aim to do this while guests are out to ensure privacy. We stayed a week at the Little Globe and would definitely stay again. On arrival, a welcome pack of milk, coffee, sugar, some lovely biscuits and treats for the dog had been left for us. The accommodation was super clean and delightful both in layout and decor. It has a sun room which is just a perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee. The sunrRead moreoom looked out onto a pretty courtyard which led up to a private and outside sitting area, with comfortable corner seating and bbq, outside lighting made it perfect for spending quiet time in the evenings and reflecting on the day. The accommodation itself, was very comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need, for a home from home stay. Ample crockery, cooking utensils etc and dishwasher (with dishwasher tablets), microwave etc and air fryer! There was a folder, which informed us of all the local places to eat and if these eateries were dog friendly. Accommodation was so central to all that Appledore has to offer, shops, cafes and pubs just a stones throw, however, the accommodation was quiet and peaceful! The quay was just moments away and it was a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Appledore and the surrounding areas were picturesque and during our week stay we were able to enjoy Appledore carnival and an evening when the local band played at the quayside, truly a lovely evening! The Little Globe and Appledore are truly dog friendly and our dog was welcomed everywhere! If I had to sum our week away at the Little Globe in one word it would be charming! We were lucky enough to meet the owners, who were friendly and whose main concern was ensuring our comfort and privacy which they did! All in all we had a very relaxing, enjoyable time and wouldnt hesitate to return!! Hide
