You’ll be surrounded by glorious countryside and fantastic walking routes, and you can watch the famous Severn Bore tidal wave from local viewing points (5 miles). For a fun afternoon out, hop aboard a heritage steam train on the Dean Forest Railway (6 miles), or spend the day exploring the lakeside trails and treetop adventures at Mallards Pike (5 miles). Lydney Harbour (7.5 miles) is lovely for waterside strolls, and the panoramic viewpoint at Symonds Yat Rock (12.5 miles) provides bird's-eye vistas over the River Wye. For a change of pace, visit Gloucester Docks (17 miles) for meals by the water.
