This beautifully designed cottage is set within a converted steading, right beside the River Ailnack in the Cairngorms National Park. Sleeping four guests, it’s well suited to couples, friends or small families. You’ll be surrounded by some of Scotland’s most spectacular landscapes. At Tomintoul (1.5 miles), the highest village in the Highlands, you can browse independent shops, eat out and enjoy local events, including the annual Highland Games. The estate itself is rich in wildlife, with red squirrels and roe deer frequently seen among the woodland, while red deer and mountain hares roam the surrounding moorland. The cottage is at the end of the impressive Ailnack Gorge, Scotland’s largest glacial meltwater channel, providing magnificent views and excellent photography opportunities. Outdoor adventures are never far away, with endless walking trails nearby, mountain biking at Glenlivet Trails (5 miles), skiing at The Lecht Ski Resort (7.5 miles), and fishing opportunities, too.

On arrival, you’ll step through the entrance vestibule, where you can leave muddy boots and outdoor gear before entering the bright open-plan living area. Large glazed patio doors allow natural light to flood the space while framing views towards the river. The stylish lounge area invites relaxed evenings together, with comfortable seating gathered around a wood burner, while the dining space and contemporary kitchen have everything needed for easy holiday meals. A hallway leads to the sleeping accommodation, which includes one king-size bedroom and one attractive twin, both elegantly presented. Completing the interior is a bathroom featuring striking green walls, a freestanding bath for long post-adventure soaks, a separate shower and a WC.

The patio doors lead out onto a sun terrace overlooking the riverside surroundings, so you can sip morning coffee or evening drinks while soaking up the views. To the rear, you’ll have an enclosed garden with seating. Ample private parking for two cars is available directly outside the property, making it easy to come and go as you please.
