Watergate Bay Beach stretches for 2 miles, drawing surfers, kayakers, and kite surfers year-round, with a surf school on the beach offering lessons across a range of watersports – the exposed Atlantic swell providing excellent conditions for beginners and experienced riders alike. The coast path runs along the clifftops above, connecting to Newquay's seven bays in one direction and the sands at Mawgan Porth in the other. Back at the bay, beachfront restaurants and cafes line the shore, and music festivals and surf competitions bring colour and energy to the area throughout the year.
