This single-storey cabin sits 1 mile inland from Porthcothan Beach on Cornwall's north coast, in a quiet and largely undeveloped coastal village with an away-from-it-all feel. Couples and small groups looking for a coastal self-catering break have at least ten beaches to explore along this stretch of coastline. Porthcothan itself is a deep inlet framed by rocky headlands, with a broad sweep of sand at low tide – quieter than many of the better-known bays, and surf lessons are available on the beach. Around the headland, Treyarnon Bay (1.5 miles) offers golden sand and a coast path with panoramic views over Constantine Bay. Padstow and its harbour lie 4.5 miles to the north, while the dramatic cliff formations at Bedruthan Steps (3.5 miles) suit walkers, and the Camel Trail (8 miles) is ideal for cycling. Watergate Bay, Mawgan Porth Beach, and Trevone Beach (all within 7.5 miles) round out a varied stretch of the North Cornish coast.
The open-plan living area brings together the lounge, kitchen, and dining space, with double doors opening onto the decked area and garden beyond. A wood burner sits at the heart of the room, flanked by spacious two-seater and three-seater sofas, with a Smart TV with Netflix, and a DVD. A large wooden dining table seats up to six, and the kitchen sits alongside with everything needed for a self-catering stay. In the master bedroom, a super-king-size bed is dressed in 400 thread count sheets, and its en-suite bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC. The second bedroom – also with an en-suite bathroom – offers a super-king-size zip-and-link bed that can be separated into a twin on request.
The large private garden is enclosed, with a decked area and flintstone chip surfaces throughout. A round wooden table and chairs seat up to four for al fresco dining under fairy lights, and two further benches are placed within the garden. An outdoor kitchen and gas BBQ with plancha grill sit alongside. Private parking is available for two cars.
