Property code: OC-B584383

This three-bedroom, reverse-level barn conversion sits just off the coastal road between Padstow and Newquay, offering far-reaching views across the countryside and the Atlantic Ocean. Ideal for families and couples looking for a beach and walking holiday, it sits just half a mile from Mawgan Porth Beach – an expanse of white sand with rolling surf and a surf school on the shore. The South West Coast Path leads north to the National Trust's Carnewas at Bedruthan Steps (1 mile), where clifftop panoramas stretch along the Heritage Coast and towards the exposed headland of Trevose Head (7 miles). Heading south, the path passes Iron Age hill forts on the way to Watergate Bay (2.5 miles). A bus stop serves the property, allowing for one-way walks with a scenic return by bus.

A reverse-level layout places the open-plan living space on the upper floor, with three restful bedrooms below. The living area is generous, with original beams spanning the ceiling and two leather sofas alongside a tub chair arranged around a coffee table and a Smart TV. At the far end, a snuggle chair sits beside the window with fantastic sea views. A large dining table seats six in the dining area, also looking out to sea, and the modern kitchen occupies one end of the open-plan space, lit from above by Velux windows. On the ground floor, the master bedroom has a king-size bed with partial sea views and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has a king-size bed, while the third – a smaller room – has a double bed set against the wall. A family shower room with a walk-in shower and WC serves the second and third bedrooms.

The front garden has sea views, a rocking chair, a wicker dining table with six chairs, and a BBQ. To the rear, a large paddock with picnic benches and sea views is shared with other guests. Designated parking is available for two cars.

We had an enjoyable stay at Menehay and it's a comfortable and well-situated accommodation. We were a family of two couples and one teen. We had the larger of the beds and it was comfortable but the other couple said the double was quite small. It's light and airy upstairs with nice features and coastal tones. There is everything you need to cook aRead moret the property and two fridges, that we found helpful. We needed to wash our white towels every other day and felt they were a little small to cover a decent-sized adult. It was nice to have some milk on arrival with tea, coffee and a biscuit too :) Fabulous large TV screen and lots of seating, overall we really enjoyed the week here. We have been to Mawgan Porth before and this part of the area is quiet and easy access to everything with two car parking spaces. Hide

I wouldn't say it was fully appropriate for people with dogs, no gated outside area. Not outside tap for after the beach to wash them down or wetsuits etc which we have always had with any beach retreats properly we have booked. We felt the rooms were quite small for us personally, although appreciate the cosy feel. I would recommend for people whRead moreo don't have dogs or want a certain type of holiday- not ideal for bigger families. Hide
