Step straight into adventure with the Yorkshire Dales on your doorstep, then return to comfort and unforgettable evenings in this impressive 28-person property. You’ll find this holiday home in a remote position just 1 mile from Sedbergh. England’s official book town, this destination is renowned for its independent bookstores – pick up a book to enjoy on your holiday. The town sits at the foothills of the Howgill Fells, a perfect destination for keen walkers, and is a stop-off point along The Dales Way, an 80-mile route that spans some of Yorkshire and Cumbria’s prettiest spots. A little beyond the town, the vibrant market town of Kendal (13 miles) is appealing in its own right but also gives way to the vast Lake District National Park (15 miles), another destination for fantastic outdoor adventures. Discover Lake Windermere within 22 miles, visiting Windermere (20.5 miles) and Bowness (21.5 miles) on its scenic banks.

This detached stone house has been designed with a combination of sophisticated décor and comforting, homely elements, altogether creating a house that’s instantly welcoming yet elegantly finished. Start off in the open-plan garden room, where wraparound views are a joy to admire all day, every day, and comfortable seating invites you to sit down with your book or enjoy some great conversation. A second lounge is across the hall, designed with more comfy seating, a TV and an open fire – the perfect destination for lounging around late into the night. Two functional spaces on this floor include the spacious dining room and the kitchen, where commercial-style appliances make cooking for a larger group an easy feat. For those who fancy a night off from cooking, local chefs are available to book in advance. The bedrooms are positioned throughout the ground and first floors, and each one features its own en-suite facilities, adding privacy and ease when getting ready. Of the bedrooms, six are arranged as twin rooms, four feature double beds, and two offer two sets of bunk beds suitable for children and adults alike. All 12 bathrooms have been well designed with modern tiling, six featuring walk-in shower units and six more fitted with baths.

The outdoor space has been designed with enjoyment and relaxation in mind. The large garden features lawn and patio areas, complete with ample picnic-bench seating and comfortable rattan furniture beneath a gazebo. A BBQ, pizza oven and outdoor grill help elevate alfresco dining, while two hot tubs provide the perfect finishing touch for a luxurious stay. There is also secure bike storage and private parking for up to 14 cars.
