Located in the pretty coastal village of Beadnell, this charming cottage dates back to 1765 and reflects the area’s traditional character. From here, you can stroll down to Beadnell Beach (0.3 mile) and the existing harbour which is the only west-facing harbour on the east coast, perfect for watching sunsets, rock pooling and water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, or kite surfing. The village has two pubs/restaurants, a shop and a bistro, as well as a beachside café for post-stroll treats. This is an ideal base for exploring and walking or cycling the coastal path to nearby highlights such as Seahouses (2.5 miles), where boat trips run to the Farne Islands to spot seals and puffins, or venture to the dramatic Bamburgh Castle, just a short drive away (5.5 miles). Craster village is just 9 miles away for great seafood. Holy Island is 21 miles away where you can drive across the causeway at low tide to explore this unique destination.
Head into the cottage via the sunroom with furniture to relax on, and where you can hang your coats and store your walking boots. A tranquil place to sit with a book and a nice hot drink. Heading into the lounge, you’ll find original exposed beams and a beautiful inglenook stone fireplace, which is home to a lovely wood burner. Settle in for cosy evenings watching a movie on Smart TV while warming your toes after your days out exploring the area. Three shallow steps lead from the lounge to the small double bedroom, perfect for one guest. The light and airy kitchen/diner has a welcoming country feel where you’ll gather around the table for family meals. Open the French doors onto the enclosed patio garden in the warmer months and enjoy inside/outside living. Heading upstairs, there are two further bedrooms, a double with an en-suite shower and WC and a king-size with a feature fireplace (not in use). The family bathroom features a shower and WC and completes the accommodation.
Outside to the rear, enjoy al fresco dining in the enclosed, low-walled courtyard garden with a large dining table and seating for sociable summer evenings. Fire up the BBQ or sit around the fire pit with a drink and unwind gazing up at the stars. There is a useful outside tap to wash boots and paws after a stroll on the beach. Three stone steps lead to the upper garden space and a gate. At the front, there is more garden furniture, ideal for morning drinks. Parking for up to four cars is off-road on the grass in front of the cottage.
