Enormous character fills every room of this wonderful property, which successfully blends original features with modern luxuries. There are delightful touches everywhere, including antique furnishings, quirky collections and eclectic works of art. Enter the single-storey cottage into the impressive kitchen, where the cook of the holiday will have everything they need to put together delicious meals, including a handy microwave and air fryer. This room flows through to a cosy lounge/diner, where there are comfortable sofas and a Smart TV that’s cleverly disguised as one of the framed pictures. As you dine, you’ll have a wonderful view of the countryside at the front of the property and beyond. From here, a step leads up to the hallway and the front entrance, where you'll find hooks for outdoor clothing and a luxurious, Victorian-style bathroom, which features a large, walk-in shower. Two shallow steps from the lounge/diner lead to the snug, where a wood burner is set into the inglenook fireplace, back-lit to add to the atmosphere. This is a perfect space in which to unwind: plush sofas are arranged to encourage conversation and relaxation, perhaps reading a good book, playing a game of chess or inspecting maps to plan your next day’s adventures. Wall-to-wall glazing provides a stunning view across the patio garden to the woodland and river beyond, and, in the warmer months, you can open the French doors to enjoy inside/outside living. When it’s time to turn in, choose from two tranquil bedrooms, both of which offer ample storage space and feature soft rugs on wooden floorboards. The super-king-size bedroom boasts a stunning four-poster, and the king-size is a spacious room with pretty views.
To the back of the cottage is an enclosed patio with garden furniture overlooking the river below – a sunny spot in which to enjoy breakfast with a view or an evening supper. Another wonderful outside space is the gazebo terrace, with lighting and views of the river, which has a unique surprise: two beautiful copper baths, which you can fill from the hot and cold taps. Relish in a long, relaxing soak with wonderful rural views. A lawned area at the side of the cottage features bench seating – a great spot for afternoon tea. For even more fun, follow the private, illuminated path down to the BBQ/firepit hut with cushioned seating and a DAB radio so you can also listen to music or a favourite show. Keep going further down, and stone steps will lead you onto the final, magical seating area just above the river. At the front of the property, there is off-road parking for two cars, and a garage which has four bike stands and hooks for outdoor equipment.
