Escape to the countryside in this delightful bolthole in the Yorkshire hamlet of Rathmell. The pet-friendly retreat welcomes two guests and is the perfect base for couples, solo travellers and cyclists seeking outdoor adventure. As expected, the surrounding area is a paradise for keen walkers, from tranquil waterside routes on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (13 miles) to the spectacular clifftop scenery of Malham Cove (11 miles). This cottage is also a great base for those taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks. The nearby town of Settle (3.5 miles) has a great range of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and hosts a popular farmers’ market every week. Skipton (17 miles) is also well worth a visit during your stay, to explore the 900-year-old castle and enjoy tranquil walks along the canal towpath.
The wonderful stone-built annexe is adjacent to the owner’s home, although privacy is assured. Inside, the property is decorated in neutral tones, with little splashes of colour in the accessories and artwork. The main living space is a bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with wooden floors and a vaulted ceiling. In one area is a stylish kitchen with everything needed to prepare a delicious dinner for two, which you can share at the sweet dining table. From here, move through to the lounge area, which is partly partitioned, to relax on the sofa and catch up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. When it’s time for bed, retire to the inviting double bedroom for a good night’s sleep. Completing the interior is a contemporary bathroom.
Outside, the fully enclosed garden has a patio area with furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining. Spend time here, basking in the sunshine and taking in the fabulous countryside views. There is also a large kennel in the garden that’s perfect for storing bikes. Private parking is available for two cars.
