This is a great base for hikers and nature spotters, with the Dragon’s Back walk leading to Parkhouse Hill and Chrome Hill (2 miles). Just to the north, the historic spa town of Buxton (5 miles) is home to a range of fantastic restaurants, pubs and independent shops, with attractions including Buxton Opera House, Poole’s Cavern and the tranquil Pavilion Gardens. Heading east, the sweet market town of Bakewell (9.5 miles) is famous for its delicious pudding. This stunning corner of Derbyshire is also home to stately homes including Chatsworth House (13.5 miles) and Haddon Hall (11 miles), with other notable landmarks including Lathkill Dale, Magpie Mine and Blake Mere Mermaid Pool, all within 7 miles.
