The tranquil hamlet of Sedgehill offers an ideal retreat for those seeking a peaceful base. Just 5 miles away lies the historic town of Shaftesbury, home to the iconic Gold Hill with its charming, picture-perfect cottages. The town features a great selection of shops and eateries, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. Visitors interested in the area's Saxon heritage can discover more at the local museum and explore the evocative abbey ruins. Closer to Sedgehill, the village of Semley (2 miles) provides a shop, pub, and antiques centre, while Motcombe, just 2.5 miles away, is another convenient stop for essentials or a visit to the pub. Within a 25-mile radius, you'll find a variety of renowned attractions, including Stonehenge, Longleat House and Safari Park, Stourhead House and Gardens, the Haynes Motor Museum, and the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Bath.

This stylish retreat forms part of a historic farm. A shared drive leads to the property, which has an area of hardstanding to the front and a private entrance door leading into a welcoming hallway. Once inside, you’ll find space to hang coats and leave muddy boots. To the left is a step down into a spacious lounge, where you can unwind beside the wood burner and put on the Smart TV. Leading on from here is the heart of the property, a stylish kitchen/diner, with a large dining table and a view of the beautifully landscaped garden, as well as access via double doors. The stylish kitchen has all you need to create delicious meals. At the other end of the ground floor is the first of three thoughtfully designed bedrooms, with twin beds that can be made into a super-king on request and an en-suite shower room with WC. Completing the ground floor is a separate WC and a useful utility room with a washer/dryer. Heading up the oak staircase to the first floor, you’ll come to the two bedrooms set into the eaves of the building. First is a super-king-size, which can be made up into a twin on request, with an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a super-king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. These rooms have original roof timbers and sloping ceilings in some areas, adding to the character and charm of the property. All the bedrooms boast a Smart TV.

Heading outside via the dining area, you can enjoy the professionally landscaped gardens, featuring borders filled with plants and a patio with furniture, ideal for a sundowner or your morning coffee. There is ample parking in front of the property.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful brand-new holiday home just outside Shaftesbury. The house has been thoughtfully designed with beautiful high-end interiors, and furnished to an exceptionally high standard with everything immaculate throughout. It felt luxurious, while still being incredibly comfortable and welcoming. The bedrooms were spRead moreacious with very comfortable beds, plenty of storage and modern en-suite bathrooms. The well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances had everything we needed to cook. We particularly appreciated the extra touches such as Tupperware, oil, vinegar and other essentials, which made self-catering so much easier and enabled us to relax as if we were at home. Outside, the beautifully maintained garden was a wonderful place to unwind and relax and having private parking directly outside was very convenient. The location was perfect, peaceful and surrounded by fields with lovely walks, a pub and a great caf (Sorelle) nearby, yet less than a 10-minute drive from the charming town of Shaftesbury. We enjoyed exploring the independent shops, cafs, and the local Lido was a great bonus for a swim on a warm day. As we were the first guests, there were a couple of minor teething issues, which is to be expected with a brand new property. However, the owners prompt response and commitment to acting on our feedback gave us every confidence that future guests will have an even more seamless experience. Overall, we had a great stay and wed happily recommend this place to others. Hide
