Tucked away in the centre of Croyde, this attractive whitewashed cottage is a lovely base for soaking up the laid-back beach life that the seaside village is known for. With its relaxed surfing culture, golden sands and green hills rising behind the bay, it’s easy to see why it’s considered one of the jewels of the North Devon coastline. Beyond the beach, the village offers craft shops, superb eateries and spectacular walks with panoramic sea views along the South West Coast Path, particularly around Baggy Point. Golfing enthusiasts won’t want to miss Saunton Golf Club (2.5 miles), a scenic 36-hole course set among the dunes, which is open to visitors. Further afield, Exmoor National Park (15 miles) has some amazing trails that take in all the drama of this wild landscape.
Step into the light and airy open-plan living space, where the lounge area features comfortable sofas set around a Smart TV. It’s an inviting spot to chat over a drink or enjoy a movie night with snacks. The contemporary kitchen area is equipped with everything you need to cook your favourite dishes. You can even whip up some homemade seaside-style fish and chips in the deep fat fryer to enjoy out on the patio, which is easily accessed from the dining area. The ground floor also has the added convenience of a shower room with a WC. Head upstairs to find a peaceful reading nook at the top of the stairs, along with two cosy bedrooms for getting quality rest after a busy day exploring the coast. One bedroom has a king-size bed, while the other offers a super-king-size bed that can be made up as twin beds if preferred. Completing this floor is a second shower room with a WC.
Outside is a private enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ – perfect for warm, lazy days when all you want to do is take it slow and dine alfresco. At the back of the cottage is a large private field, giving you extra space to let the kids burn off some energy. Parking for two cars is available.
