Step out from the doorstep to explore Newland's Horseshoe, a scenic ridge walk encircling the beautiful Newlands Valley. Venture 3.5 miles on foot to reach beautiful Derwentwater, where you can pick up the scenic 10-mile stroll around the entire lake. Walk 2.5 miles to climb Catbells, with its spectacular views across to Skiddaw. Head 6 miles into Keswick to meander through the independent shops, dine out and book tickets to see a show at the Theatre by the Lake. Take a cruise out on Derwentwater or hire rowing boats, canoes or kayaks and set off under your own steam. Spend an afternoon at beautiful Whinlatter Forest, 6 miles away, with its leafy walks.
