Very disappointed in the cottage, dark and dingy, the equipment was lacking in lots of ways, we had to go out and buy several cooking utensils, we go away in holiday cottages over four times a year, this one was not one we would return to.

Lovely little cottage. Owners very helpful and it had everything we needed for our 3 week stay. A very pleasant walk into town and the added steam trains going past was a real treat. Thank you.

A comfy, cosy cottage that backs onto the NYMR railway tracks with excellent views of all passing trains. A quiet location (when no trains). Excellent walks right from the doorstep. Can walk to Pickering in 20 minutes along quiet tracks or quiet main road. Level crossing needs to be used to access the property but this is quick and easy to do with Read morethe push of a button. We loved the place and plan to return next year. Hide

Cottage is in excellent location for exploring the local area and for exercising our dogs on the many walking trails nearby. The cottage was very clean and the furniture was ok, but needed a coffee table or something table like in the living room to stand drinks etc on (we were worried about the possibility of spilling drinks on the sofas). The bRead moreasic equipment was good but crockery felt very cheap. Couldn't get radiators in bedrooms to come on at all (but living room one worked ok)(not major prob as it was not particularly cold, but could have been worse earlier in the season). Beds were very comfortable, but difficult to get rooms dark with only the slat type blinds fitted (especially at rear of property), so kept getting woken up at 5am by the daylight. These small niggles make the cottage seem less value for money, appreciate that the full occupancy would have been 5 persons and there was only the two of us. For us it felt reasonably spacious but suspect it would feel quite tight for five adults. Hide
