This delightfully converted former barn offers a rustic retreat in the Kent countryside and close to the fringes of the High Weald National Landscape (2.5 miles). Sleeping up to eight guests, the property is perfect for families and groups of friends planning days of outdoor adventure together. Keen walkers can join one of the many scenic trails that lead from the doorstep and cut through the surrounding countryside. Those with a passion for nature will love a visit to Sissinghurst Castle Garden (3.5 miles), offering over 450 acres of themed gardens and a 16th-century tower managed by the National Trust. History enthusiasts should visit the unforgettable Leeds Castle in Maidstone (10 miles) or the landing beach and battlefield at world-famous Hastings (23 miles). Closer to home, a fun afternoon awaits at Bewl Water (12 miles), the UK’s best floating obstacle course and a great spot for walking, cycling and other water sports.

Step into this characterful property and quickly notice the historic features that highlight its age – exposed brick walls and timber blend with high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. Head to the living area to unwind after a day of adventure; sink into the cosy seating and enjoy the glow of the wood burner during the colder months. For more relaxation, a separate seating area features a TV and tranquil views over the pond outside. When stomachs rumble, the farmhouse-style kitchen boasts everything required to cook up holiday feasts, which can be enjoyed in the unique dining room or alfresco out in the garden. Completing the ground floor is a handy WC and the first of three bedrooms – a characterful double room set in the oast. Upstairs are the final two bedrooms: a super-king-size room and a double bedroom, both of which feature en-suite bathrooms. If you’re bringing extra guests, you’ll be pleased to hear that a sofa bed converts to sleep two additional people.

Step outside and be charmed by the generous and attractive grounds. Enjoying countryside views, the beautiful garden is landscaped and features a seating area with a BBQ – perfect for quiet morning coffees and al fresco evening meals. You’ll also find private parking for three cars, making your arrival and day trips easy.
