Get the whole gang together at this idyllic whitewashed farmhouse sitting on the historic Dougarie Estate, just 11 miles from Brodick. Sleeping ten people over five bedrooms, it’s ideal for large families and groups who are in search of a peaceful cottage where they can celebrate a special occasion together. Wake up and set off on a 2-mile hike through the estate to Loch Iorsa for a picnic, or take a stroll along the beaches at Dougarie, just a stone throw away from the Farmhouse. Visit Machrie’s Neolithic stone circle, or tee-off for a round of golf. Or head to the King’s Caves (5.5 miles) to see the ancient carvings of serpents, deer and horses on the walls. Further afield, make a beeline for the main town of Brodick (11 miles) to explore its castle and browse the shops, restaurants and pubs. For whisky-tasting, Lochranza Distillery (12.5 miles) or Lagg Distillery (13 miles) are hard to beat.

Step inside this detached hideaway and to the left of the hallway you’ll find the living room – a large, stylish space with plenty of natural sunlight, a welcoming wood burner and gorgeous views. The living room also offers access to the farmhouse’s bunk room. To the left of the entrance boot room there’s a handy shower room. Further down the hall there’s an elegant dining room, and a stylish galley kitchen to your left. Head upstairs and a smart central hallway leads you to four fabulous bedrooms – one super-king-size and one twin, as well as two flexible bedrooms that can be arranged as either super-king-size rooms or twins.

Step out into the enclosed garden, fire up the charcoal BBQ and share a fun al fresco dinner at the picnic benches overlooking Kilbrannan Sound. Private parking is available for five cars.
