Further afield, make your way to Pooley Bridge (14 miles) to take a cruise on one of England’s prettiest lakes and then treat yourself to some top-class pub grub.

Step inside your pretty stone cottage, and to your left, you’ll discover an inviting open-plan farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area – the heart of the home with separate utility area. To the right, there’s an elegant lounge enhanced by a crackling wood burner in a feature fireplace, and vintage design touches throughout – the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the Lakes, there is also a separate WC on the ground floor. Alongside the lounge, there’s a handy snug/office room with a desk, in case you want to catch up on a little work. At the end of the day, retreat to one of the three boho-chic bedrooms upstairs – a splendid king-size with an en-suite shower room, a stylish double, and a cosy single.
