A rustic haven ideal for couples, this enchanting shepherd’s hut is everything you’ve been seeking for a romantic break. Set in leafy Nottinghamshire, the one-bedroom retreat sleeps two guests and enjoys excellent privacy on a tranquil site in South Leverton, 6 miles from Retford. Spend your days watching the wildlife around you or venture 11.5 miles to Spalford Warren – one of the rarest animal habitats in the county. The Idle Valley Nature Reserve (7 miles) is also an excellent destination for nature lovers. Bring your four-legged friend along and enjoy scenic walks beside the River Trent. Take in the views and watch the barges drift by at the picturesque Torksey Lock (9.5 miles). During your stay, make time to visit Lincoln (16.5 miles) to stock up on local produce, unwind in a traditional pub serving local ales, and explore the cathedral and castle.

Before stepping into this peaceful shepherd’s hut, take a moment to appreciate your natural surroundings, listening out for birdsong and watching the piglets potter about. Climb the seven steps up to the property and head inside to uncover a studio-style living space filled with natural light and warm wooden textures. A central wood burner doubles as both your heating and oven, adding a cosy touch on chillier days. Beside it sits a compact kitchen area with everything needed for cooking light meals and preparing picnics for days of adventure. Enjoy meals at the breakfast bar or dine alfresco in the outdoor seating area. When it’s time to retire for the night, an inviting double bed awaits at the end of the hut, perfectly positioned beside the wood burner. Completing the property is a shower room featuring a compost WC.

Your private outdoor space is as charming as the hut’s interior. Unwind out here as you gather around the fire pit, sizzle fresh local produce, and dine alfresco at the bistro-style furniture. For extra relaxation, there is hanging egg seating or enjoy evenings under the stars in the wood-fired hot tub. You’ll also benefit from private off-street parking for one car. Enhance your stay with a choice of additional packages, including romantic and birthday packages, pizza kits, farm breakfast hampers, and a BBQ kit. Honestly very disappointed with the quality of service. 35 for a breakfast! No orange juice only one pint of milk for 2 people over 4 days/3nights and had 7days notice to make sure we had what we paid for! Not worth the money paid. And poor excuses for why we didnt receive any orange juice or more milk! No hammock chairs, no E-bikes nothing avRead moreailable that was advertised on the website! Stood in dog muck a number of times, the hut needs some attention. Stairs to the hut need new felt and it could do with a good clean. Broken furniture fixed with black electrical tape. Cheap towels, mattress was lumpy snd extremely uncomfortable. Had to wait for hours to get water in the morning which ruined our plans for the day! Toilet and water were not changing or refilled before we arrived! Toilet smell was unbearable and really affected our break away, lots of flies because of the smell. No customer care and the service was shocking! Trying to make contact through numbers provided were useless! Never answered calls or replied to messages, very poor customer service/care. Checking that your guests have everything when they check in should be done. And when you say youre going to sort things out for your guests this should be done!! Felt ignored and very unhappy! Hide
