The Pennine Way (6 miles), the rolling Eden Valley and countless scenic trails are all within 10 miles, offering endless opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside. Ullswater (19 miles) and the magnificent Lake District are just a short drive to the west, while the Yorkshire Dales , Northumberland and even the Scottish Borders are all within easy reach.
