This welcoming holiday retreat sits in an elevated position overlooking the River Tay, in the pretty Perthshire village of Longforgan. The pet-friendly property sleeps eight guests and is located on an equestrian centre, making it perfect for animal lovers and those seeking outdoor adventure. You’ll have easy access to the lower stretches of the River Tay, and there are some beautiful countryside walks to explore in and around the village and in the nearby Camperdown Country Park (6 miles). After an action-packed day, refuel in the friendly village pub. Further afield, take a day trip to the vibrant city of Dundee (6 miles), spend the day on the sandy shores of Broughty Ferry Beach (11 miles), or enjoy a round of golf at the iconic Old Course in St Andrews (20 miles). For history enthusiasts, Glamis Castle and Scone Palace are both within 20 miles.
The bright and airy period property is decorated in a contemporary style, with neutral decor, wooden furniture, and little flashes of colour in the accessories and soft furnishings. Large windows bathe each room in natural light and allow you to fully appreciate the breathtaking rural landscape. From the large hallway, head through to the impressive, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with its wooden floors, far-reaching views, and French doors leading out into the garden. Spend time here, rustling up a feast for the family, which you can share around the large dining table. After dinner, chill out in the comfortable lounge area, watching the Smart TV or planning the next day’s activities. Alternatively, wander through to the main lounge for a movie night together or to simply sit back and take in the magnificent views through the large bay window. There are two ground-floor bedrooms – a double and a twin – as well as a stylish shower room. Upstairs, there’s a delightful super-king-size bedroom with versatile, zip-and-link beds, along with a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. All four bedrooms feature sumptuous linens, ample storage, and an array of homely touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Outside, fire up the BBQ and tuck into an al fresco supper out on the decked patio. As the sun sets, enjoy a wee tipple or sink into the bubbling hot tub and admire your breathtaking surroundings. The garden is fully enclosed, and there’s a large lawn, making the space ideal for children and four-legged visitors. Guests are also welcome to meet, pat, and feed the resident horses and ponies (carrots provided). The property has private, enclosed parking for two cars, with an additional two off-road spaces next to the house.
