Just outside the town, you can catch a train on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway, one of the most scenic routes in the country. Heading into the Yorkshire Dales, walkers can visit to the famous three peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, or explore Malham Cove or Bolton Abbey.
