Or make your way to Keswick (6 miles), go axe-throwing at Keswick Adventures and catch a show at the Theatre by the Lake. If you have the kids with you, they can let off a little steam at the Go Ape Treetop Adventure in Whinlatter Forest (3.5 miles). The views from there across to Bassenthwaite, Derwentwater and Keswick are unrivalled.
Step inside your country cottage and store all your outdoor gear in the spacious porch. Make your way to the heart of the home – a stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner that has been designed with socialising in mind.
