Escape the noise and reconnect with nature in this cosy, rustic shepherd's nut. Located on a peaceful working farm on the edge of The Peak District, this is the ultimate spot for a relaxing, off-the-grid feeling with all the comfort you need. It is ideal for solo travellers or a romantic holiday for two. The charming village of Ashover (2 miles) is a scenic countryside stroll away. Ogston Reservoir (6 miles) offers expansive waterside views and peaceful birdwatching or head to Linacre Reservoirs (9 miles) for a walk. The spa town of Matlock and neighbouring Matlock Bath (5 miles) have riverside walks, cafés and shops to explore, while Cromford (8 miles) is rich in industrial heritage and Chatsworth House is just 10 miles away. What’s more, the owner lives on site and is happy to share custom recommendations for the best local walking trails, hidden viewpoints, and top-tier food spots.

This characterful wooden hut has been carefully hand-built using recycled and upcycled materials. Compact, beautifully decorated, and incredibly cosy, it features a brilliantly comfy bed and excellent insulation – you won't even need the heater on a chilly night! Climb two wooden steps, head across the decking and in through the stable door. Inside, you’ll find a bright, thoughtfully designed living space. It’s decorated in a rustic style, with a small semi-circular table for sitting down with a cuppa, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The super-king-size bed promises a restful night’s sleep, dressed with soft linen and a plush goose feather and down duvet. Just a few steps away, down by the pond, are two shower rooms, one dedicated for your use during your stay. This spacious and recently renovated facility features a wonderful, hot shower (perfect after a long day’s hiking!) and beautiful Scandinavian-inspired wooden finishes. The owners care deeply about the environment, and their eco credentials include ground-based solar panels with battery storage and an air source heat pump

The outdoor space is grass, with a well-equipped cooking area where you can rustle up everything from simple breakfasts to pizzas in the wood-fired pizza oven. Spend your evenings around the fire pit, soaking up views of the ancient duck pond and its striking standing stones – keep an eye out for the friendly resident ducks waddling around! As night falls, the illuminated pond creates a magical, tranquil atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding under the stars. You’ll have parking space for two cars.
