A peaceful retreat nestled in historic Angus, this welcoming hideaway is perfect for family or friends wishing to explore undiscovered Scotland. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom former farmhouse is set on the undulating Pearsie Estate, 6 miles from Kirriemuir. Known as the Gateway to the Glens for its exceptional position and as the ‘wee red toon’ for its local red sandstone architecture, Kirriemuir is also celebrated as the birthplace of Peter Pan author JM Barrie. Indeed, visitors can see a statue of the boy who never grew up in the town square and take their children to Peter Pan Park in the town. Keen walkers will find the farmhouse is just 5 miles from Glen Prosen, with its myriad of walks, including the 4-mile Minister’s Path that runs to Glen Clova, and 7 miles from the spectacular peaks of the Cairngorms National Park. Magnificent Glamis Castle is just 10.5 miles away.

Feel a million miles away from it all as soon as you pull up outside this spacious holiday home. Enter the property via its side door, where you can hang your jackets and leave your walking boots and wellies in the cloakroom. There is also a handy downstairs WC here. Make your way on into the welcoming farmhouse kitchen to unpack any local Scottish produce you have sourced on your latest trip out, then prepare and pop dinner into the huge Aga to roast. A handy peninsula island houses your hobs, and there is also an electric oven for your convenience. Set the table in here and call everyone through to join you for hearty evening feasts or delicious breakfasts to set you up for the day. After dining together, wander through to the enticing lounge, where you can lay a fire in the wood burner and sink back into the comfortable seating in its comfortable heat. Find a film on the Smart TV or play games. One of your lovely bedrooms, a generous king-size, with a fireplace housing a wood-burning-style electric fire, is also downstairs, together with a convenient family shower room. Climb the stairs to your two remaining bedrooms, a twin and a king-size. Your gorgeous family bathroom, where you have the choice of wallowing in the roll-top bath or enjoying a refreshing shower, is also here.

Enjoy the Scottish sunshine out in the enclosed garden during the warmer months. Play games with any children in your party on the lawn and share a bottle of wine in the summer house or under the stars. There is private, off-road parking for four cars at the farmhouse.
