  • Relax by the cosy open coal fire after a day out exploring the beautiful Island of Skye
Property code: OC-CA229

Inside, the first of two welcoming lounges offers an open coal fire, perfect for curling up in front of a DVD after a blustery stomp along nearby walking trails. The second sports a well-stocked bookshelf and glorious views out of the island's famous landscape, so you can tuck yourself away for some all-important you time. As it's a one-level property, the bedrooms and bathroom facilities are also on the ground floor a warm and inviting double, two twins (one with bunk beds) and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The property sits within enclosed grounds that are shared with another holiday let, but parking is private, as is the patio which overlooks the sea. Pour yourself an aperitif while dinner bubbles on the hob, and head out there for golden hour as the sun sinks below the horizon.

Cottage is in a lovely location, with lovely views over the sea on a nice day. Cottage is very comfortable with all kitchen requirements you can imagine. Hot water is non existent, its same temperature if you actually have the water heater on or off. Shower is ok, that gives you hot water. Storage heaters just barely take the edge off tRead morehe cold evenings, open fire is essential. Small shop in next village is a delight, sells absolutely everything including logs, kindling & coal which saves you a trek into Dunedin garage as that is really expensive. The cottage has its own large fenced off garden area in an elevated position looking out over the sea. This cottage has a family of very large deer who frequent the garden most nights, absolutely amazing as they are big and lovely. Unfortunately the weather was not very good this last week, Skye rain is a pain but each day around 8-9pm seems to develop sun & calm weather which is nice. A set of binoculars would be good to take for evening look outs over Dunvegan headland. All in all a nice break away Hide

We booked this fairly last minute & so glad we did. We had an amazing stay, so peaceful & far away from everyone & everything. Mandallagh Cottage was really comfy & cosy with breathtaking views. Very well equipped & so much space. The dog loved the garden. We really didn't want to leave!

Really great house. We had a stag visit the first morning and a large dolphin pod on the second to last evening. We saw sea eagles not far from the cottage along with seals. The local shop is fab, an amazing tardis.

Firstly, let me say that this cottage, once you get there, is in an excellent location. There is an abundance of wildlife, both in the garden and in the surrounding countryside. However, the drive to get there, at the end of a 10 mile road with passing places and countless Campervans spoiled the experience for us. Any trip anywhere is along this roRead moread and 10 miles can take almost an hour in August; at busy times, on this, the main road to Neist Point lighthouse. Hide

Overall good value for money. Yes it is far location. Place is well equipped with coffee machine, kitchen stuff and all things needed for washing dishes, cooking, hanging clothes. If you are lucky, you should be able to see some stags too. We saw 2 male ones on the Thursday. Just make sure you buy food as to cook. They have a fridge and another smaRead morell freezer too. I liked the second living room with the view. Hide

The cottage is fully furnished. Cooking equipment is satisfactory. Very comfortable and cosy cottage. Great for families with small kids. Though it is a bit remote and have to go through a single lane road, we enjoyed the view.

This is a nice cottage and convenient for the North of Skye, getting to it means a 10 mile drive on single track roads with parts so pot holed that it is not really a road. Granted there is resurfacing on going so this is destined to improve. but to get to a main road, does take some time. Overall this is a nice place, very comfortable and well equRead moreipped very quite too and with the above caveats I would recommend it. Hide

Lovely spacious warm cottage, with amazing enclosed space for the dogs to run about. Loved the second sitting room - the views! - and kingsize bed.
