This stunning lochside cottage in Drumnadrochit is surrounded by untouched and unspoilt Scottish scenery. Ideal for those looking to embrace the beautiful surrounds and peaceful tranquillity of this exquisitely rugged part of Scotland, it's unsurprising this A-lister has been featured in so many TV series and magazines. Charming yet humble, it is a retreat like no other and perfect for discerning adventurers looking for exploration and luxury in equal doses. It was subject of a monster sighting and two page spread in the Daily Mail in May 2022.

This traditional croft cottage sleeps four and is ideal for a Highland escape. After a day exploring bracken-clad hills and picnicking down by the lake, the lounge offers a cosy welcome - throw peat on the fire and enjoy a warming drink or two. The most idyllic place to escape reality for a while, replace your phone with one of the 50 rare books in the cottage detailing the history of the area or enjoy a bit of television before thoughts turn to dinner. The oak-floored kitchen with its glorious Rangemaster oven is sure to tempt any budding chefs within the family. Meals will be a lovely shared experience in the kitchen's fireside dining area. At the end of the day, make your way upstairs where you will find both double bedrooms with lakeview windows from which to glimpse the nighttime still waters. As well as the bedrooms, there is also a bathroom on the first floor, which features a shower and WC and has two access doors: one from the hallway and one from the master bedroom.

Set within 3 acres of land and surrounded by undulating hills covered with thickets of ancient trees, you don't have to go far to immerse yourself in nature. Closer to the property, you can make the most of three purpose-built viewing points to take in the incredible panoramas, particularly beautiful in the snowy depths of winter. Equally stunning in the summertime, you can explore to your heart's content, before returning to relax on the garden furniture and firing up the BBQ; a rural paradise, the only visitors you can expect to join your party might be the majestic roe deer or pheasants who occasionally visit the grounds.

  • 2 bedrooms - 2 doubles with some reduced head height in the eaves
  • 1 shower room - 2 access doors (1 door from hallway and 1 door from master bedroom), with shower and WC
  • Rangemaster oven and electric hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and washing machine
  • 2 multi-fuel stoves with a starter pack of logs and peat provided
  • 1 TV in lounge, 1 TV in each bedroom
  • 25GB Wi-Fi  per week. Additional use will incur charges.
  • Private parking
  • Next to the cottage is a stone building which is an empty outbuilding, not a neighbouring house. Guests are welcome to use the raised patio area at the front of this building during their stay
  • Unenclosed garden
  • Shop, pub and restaurant within 2 miles
  • During the summer there is often a single 10 second fly past in the late morning from RAF Lossiemouth with a pair of Tornadoes, Typhoons or occasionally two Nimrods, all of which fly below the level of the property on their training runs
  • Short term licence - HI50641-F
  • EPC rating - E
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • Sorry, no dogs allowed

This is our second visit, we came 7 years ago and loved it. Beautiful cottage with some poignant history. Beautiful location with the best views we have ever experienced. Although we had initial problems with cleanliness, this did not detract from our stay. Kevin who met us was lovely and helpful. Clean cosy cottage with outstanding views across Loch Ness. Fully equipped, perhaps another armchair in the living room would be beneficial for parties of four. Most attractions reachable within an hour of driving, most helpful manager in Kevin.

This house is even lovelier in reality than in the photos. Everchanging light over the lake and the many different viewpoints and benches in the garden made it so magic.
