Set on Scotland's wild west coast, this beautiful, architect-designed cottage is inspired by the curves of a seashell and provides a real escape. Exploring all of the local scenery is on the cards throughout your stay, spending each day indulging in long walks with marvellous views before wandering home to curl up by the fire. Avid bird watchers will adore spotting The Highlands' finest aviary at the RSPB Glenborrodale nature reserve, 1.5 miles away, whilst those eager to visit a beach can find dramatic seascapes at Singing Sands (13 miles). Whilst the accommodation is enviably remote, supplies can be reached in the town of Salen (9 miles) with its general store and a hotel with a bar and restaurant. You can also visit Kilchoan, 12 miles away, for a chance to embark on a ferry ride to the Isle of Mull.

If you've ever wanted to experience life in harmony with nature, this little cottage will suit you perfectly. On the banks of Loch Sunart, it's completely secluded and blends into the woodlands with a turf roof and walls of local timber and stone. Step inside the heavenly hideaway to reach an open plan living and sleeping space. Windows let in light all around the curved design, which faces mostly south, making the most of the light. The lounge area, with comfortable armchairs and a sofa, is the perfect place to curl up with a book. You’ll feel cosy even on the coldest of Highland winter days with the open fire blazing and the underfloor heating switched on. You can go about your activities in the warm embrace of the cosy space, pottering around the kitchen and dining up dinner at the table for two by the window. A double bed offers the comfiest spot to end each day and there’s even a spa bath for those utterly romantic night's in. Finally, find a separate bathroom with a rainfall shower and WC.

Make the most of warm and sunny weather whilst sitting on the terrace with views out over the loch. The owners have lovingly furnished this space with outdoor seating and a stone-built BBQ to give you options for alfresco dining in the summer months.

The location and the panoramic view from this house was spectacular. Loved the position of the bed. Wonderful to watch the moon in bed then to awake to the view of the sea loch and the hills.

An unusual and stunning property. Furnished to a very high standard and very well equipped. Great views over the loch and a chance to see usually secretive wildlife. Located in a beautiful and still secluded part of the Highlands. A real experience to stay there which I can thoroughly recommend.

I think it has all been said. This was a beautiful, unique cottage in a stunning location. Watching the sunrise through the floor to ceiling windows was just magical. The cottage is about 4 miles from nearest food store, along single track road. Our hosts did everything to ensure our comfort with excellent communication.

Beautiful location, views and the amazing wildlife outside the window, A visit to Sanna was beautiful lovely white sand and clear waters. We also found the hidden bridge and river near Dorlin Castle which was so peaceful and we saw a red squirrel very close to us. Most definitely the best holiday home we have stayed in.
