This large family home sleeps eight, making it perfect for family gatherings or two families sharing. It is well-placed for those who want to enjoy an active break in the countryside, while still being near local facilities. There is a good choice of cafes and restaurants in Lamlash, and even more choice in Brodick, 3 miles away. Lamlash Beach, a long strip of soft sand, is a few hundred metres from the front door.

The house is light, bright and all on one level. The living room is spacious, with fantastic views out over the water, and beautiful sunsets to enjoy. It has a large bay window with a window seat, perfect for enjoying those views, and a choice of comfortable sofas for afternoons and evenings relaxing. There is an open-plan kitchen/diner, with a family dining table that's large enough for everyone to gather for meals. There's everything you'll need for holiday cooking, including an electric oven, induction hob, fridge, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher. There is a master bedroom with an en-suite, a double, a twin and a separate cot bedroom, along with a family bathroom. The final bedroom, a double with an en-suite, is in the separate annexe.

Outside, there is a large garden with lawns and mature trees and shrubs, with a path leading down to the sea. There is also an outside seating area with furniture, perfect for dining alfresco, as well as off-street parking available.

The location of this property could not be better. Wonderful views, ample parking and within an easy walk to a good pub. We had superb weather that made the holiday all the more enjoyable.

An absolutely wonderful place to be. The house was so comfortable, warm and cosy. It was such a welcoming place to get to when we arrived on the last ferry because of Storm Amy. Lamlash is a great base and the house is just perfect, it's location is amazing.

A beautiful house with everything you could need for a lovely holiday. The setting is perfect with stunning views from the front window. Kirsty is a perfect host and very helpful. We definitely want to go back .

A lovely property with amazing views across the bay and over to Holy Island, seeing the seals most days was also a great experience. The owner was extremely helpful and the local restaurants and people very friendly. A fantastic base to explore the island and all its wildlife. Would highly recommend.

What can I say to make 5 stars all round d even better? I can only think of The Sheiling as Heaven on Earth. .....for all ages. This year it was a haven of peace amidst various traumas happening back home being wonderfully managed by other family members! Can't wait to return.

This is a fantastic property in a superb location, we couldn't have picked better. House was spotlessly clean, really well equipped & very comfortable. What a view ! The Sheiling is the perfect place for a relaxing stay on beautiful Arran island. Best views on the island within walking distance to all amenities. Golf round the corner was a plus, too. Instructions from the owners were crystal clear making the whole experience hassle free. Book with confidence and enjoy!

The house, the views and the weather were stunning. We have been on holiday on Arran a number of times and this is by far the best property we have rented, it is spacious, comfortable and very well maintained, it's simply perfect. We'll definitely be going back.

The Shieling is a fantastic house in a beautiful location, the views across the bay to Holy Isle are outstanding. The house is very comfortable and well equipped and Kirsty is a really helpful and welcoming host. We have stayed here several times and would highly recommend it.
