Escape to the countryside and enjoy the simple life staying in this stylish, converted and cosy self catering cottage in the beautiful Waveney Valley, Suffolk. Sleeping 6, this pretty property retains a wealth of original features, vaulted ceilings, and a traditional wood burning stove making it the ideal retreat for families, friends and couples. The open plan living area is perfect for relaxing on the comfy sofas with a glass of wine after dinner.  Sit and watch the sun go down after a busy day on your own private enclosed patio complete with table, chairs, parasol and wooden loungers, this really is the perfect place to recharge and relax.  A complete haven for animal lovers. 

The cottage is all on one level with plenty of room for six guests in three bedrooms, one of which is suitable for disabled guests including an adapted wet room.  The raindrop shower, Lavazza coffee maker and welcome pack are just some of the wonderful extras this property comes with.  There is also use of an enclosed garden for the children, complete with a swing, swing boat, trampoline and a summer house. 

Shepherd’s Watch is on a working farm so a must for animal lovers! Children will love to learn about the animals and they can even help out with bottle feeding the lambs, collecting eggs and watching the sheep shearing. Whatever the season there’s always something going on: from the lambing  in January and February, calving in the spring to the swallows nesting in the barns and kingfishers on the moat, hares in the fields and barn owls in the woods, this is a haven for wildlife!

  • Bedroom 1: twin beds (zipped together as a super king), bedside cabinets, chest, wardrobe, books. Dual aspect. Please request bed preference when booking. 
  • Bathroom: WC (with grab rails), wash hand basin, large wet room shower (with grab rails) and seat (suitable for those with some disabilities). 
  • Bedroom 2: king size bed, bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers, wardrobe.
  • En suite: bath with overhead shower, wash hand basin, WC.
  • Bedroom 3: twin beds, chest of drawers, wardrobe.

  • Outside: terrace with table and chairs, parasol and barbecue. Wooden loungers. A fully fenced and gated. Paths beyond the gate lead to the fields, the vegetable garden and the chicken houses. Farm garden with trampoline, swing and swing boat and summer house.There is a covered area with table tennis table, darts and some toddler's toys.

We had an excellent stay. A well equipped and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. The added little touches of the cold bottle of wine in the fridge and other local treats together with a friendly hello from the host, all made us feel very welcome. This is also a perfect place for anyone with limited mobility.

Lovely location and lovely people! Great to see the pecocks and the new born chicks. Bert the turkey was an added bonus especially in the evening when he would come round to the front door to visit .

Beautiful, comfortable cottage in the heart of the working farm. Very kind owners let our children get involved with the animals and learnt a lot. Gorgeous walks and sunsets too. Very much hoping to return someday!

We had a wonderful time at Shepherd's Watch. It was great to be on a farm and wake up every morning to see the hens and sheep. We also had a good friend in the peacock and her chicks. The cottage was perfect for our needs and really cosy. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and would definitely come back in the future.

A very comfortable stay, cannot fault property or care given by the owner. Nothing too much trouble. One word of advise driving down Capps lane turn off your sat nav and follow written instructions as mine said turn right please dont

Highly recommended for a wonderful get away in the Suffolk countryside. The host was very welcoming but also left us to our own devices. The beds were comfy and facilities good (particularly for older guests who are less mobile). It was a tranquil location, with good links to the coast - we visited both Southwold and Dunwich while staying. Beautiful barn on a working farm right out in the countryside. Friendly and helpful owner made us feel very welcome. Peacocks, turkeys, hens, cockerels and a goose amongst other animals made it a real country break with lots to see from the windows and garden. We loved the cottage and its rural location. The kids really enjoyed the farm animals, birds and the trampoline. The adults had a great time playing with the childrens rackets and tennis table too. We had a lovely BBQ in the garden and walked around the farm in the beautiful countryside. Great stay and well certainly be coming back next year.

This is a lovely little cottage located on a farm with great views over the field. We absolutely loved the chickens, cockerels, the noisy goose (he was a character) and especially the peacocks. They really made our holiday. It's a fair distance from amenities although we did find a small corner store about 3 miles away towards the end of the holidaRead morey, otherwise its 20minutes to most places. Such a unique experience. The cottage is right at the middle of a beautiful farm, and seeing animals every day was like a therapy for us. The owner was so kind and nice, and gave us the opportunity to hug a baby lamb which was a fantastic experience. We loved Shepherds Watch, it was a perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. The owners were so helpful and welcoming and had left us absolutely everything we needed.
