Cobble Cottage was just what we wanted for a long weekend. The lounge was warm and cozy, the kitchen was down a small step and fully fitted with all the equipment you could wish. The bed is warm and cozy. The bathroom window had the most incredible view across the Firth to Scotland.

This cottage has plenty in its favour, including nice kitchen, comfy bed and quaint setting. Where it fell short: no WiFi, data or signal available throughout stay, no central heating meaning bedroom & kitchen do get chilly, not enough hot water available to fill the bath, unclear if additional charge around use of firewood, outdoor area also used Read moreas shared bin yard (fair enough but not quite as sold in pictures). Still pleasant enough but hopefully helpful for future guests and hosts to know. Hide

Great Base for Exploring the Lakes Quiet village location with easy access to Keswick, Buttermere, and the west coast. Occasional evening road noise from passing tractors, but otherwise peaceful. A pleasant, well-located basewed happily stay again.

Cozy little cottage with all the necessary home comforts. Hostess charming and helpful. She even left us cookies and eggs to welcome us. Would recommend to a couple wanting an affordable spot from which to explore the Lake District.
