Set within the charming village of Youlgreave, this lovely cottage offers an ideal base for discovering the best of the Peak District. The village itself is known for its welcoming pubs, shop and peaceful setting between the River Bradford and River Lathkill, both offering gentle riverside walks and wildlife spotting. Just 3.5 miles away, the bustling market town of Bakewell provides independent shops, cafés and the famous pudding that draws visitors from far and wide. History lovers will appreciate being only 3 miles from Haddon Hall, one of England’s finest medieval manor houses, while the magnificent Chatsworth House lies 7 miles away with its grand interiors, landscaped gardens and family-friendly farmyard. For something even more atmospheric, the prehistoric site of Arbor Low Stone Circle is 3.5 miles from the cottage. Whether you prefer scenic trails, heritage attractions or relaxed village life, Youlgreave places everything within easy reach.

Step into the generous and welcoming lounge where the glow of the wood burner immediately sets the tone for relaxed evenings after days spent exploring the Peak District. This inviting space offers comfortable seating for unwinding with a book or watching a film, while a dining table positioned near the window creates a lovely spot for lingering over meals and enjoying glimpses of village life outside. From here, move through to the kitchen which, though modest in scale, is thoughtfully arranged to make the most of its layout and provides everything needed for easy holiday cooking. The downstairs shower room is just off the kitchen, ideal for freshening up after long walks. Upstairs, two well-proportioned double bedrooms offer peaceful retreats, each styled with comfort in mind to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The enclosed courtyard is accessed directly from the kitchen and provides a charming private space to enjoy the fresh air. With bistro seating set against the stone walls, it is perfect for a quiet morning coffee, an afternoon pause between adventures or a relaxed drink as the day winds down. On-street parking is available nearby, making it simple to come and go as you explore the surrounding countryside and nearby villages.

A great property, really good sized bedrooms and lounge. Ideally placed, walking distance to local pubs, small shops, local natural bathing spot and many many footpaths. The village of Youlgrave is very pretty too. Great stay.
