We were delighted & charmed by this cottage & the delightful quiet pretty village as soon as we pulled up & the friendly welcome of it's owners Jo & Dan who were making sure the beautiful garden was perfect for our stay. We had one of the heatwave weeks June 20th, so didn't do quite as much exploring & walks as we normally would, as so hot, especiaRead morelly with our English Springer Spaniel who would just overdo it. However, beautiful walks from the cottage & we'd take her for an early morning walk & run while the fields were still wet. Also, just down the road before the lovely church is a natural spring water pipe which is safe to fill up your water bottles & drink & of course our dog loved to jump in the stone trough to drink & cool off in . The cottage due to its thatched roof & thick walls, was a pleasant cooler temperature downstairs & we'd also love to visit again in the winter to enjoy the gorgeous fireplace with its log burner & aga in the kitchen which we noticed comes with a recipe book to try out cooking on an aga which from the visitor's book, previous guests have tried. Even from the bed, there are stunning views of the surrounding hills & countryside. We obviously enjoyed the beautiful garden every day or evening. However we also loved the country kitchen with all it's nooks & crannies, as the whole cottage was a delight, lovely comfy sofa, bed, great powerful shower & relaxing bath. If you want to chill out in the peaceful cottage & village or be more adventurous, the choice is yours. Great location for countryside walks, the Jurassic Coast is close by, NT houses, Forde Abbey is a must & really close. The pretty little village of Beaminster & market town of Bridport, plus other great places recommended to visit in Dorset. Would definitely love to return, whatever time of year & would definitely recommend Hide

Hide

Lovely cottage in a quiet location. We were very pleased that the local pub has reopened and visited for both food and drinks. The new owners are very friendly well worth a visit. I would also recommend the Platform at West Bay for Sunday lunch and beaches at Burton Bradstock, West Bexington and Seatown.

We had a lovely stay in a quiet village. The cottage is very beautiful, like a dream cottage, and has everything you need. It has all the equipment we needed during our stay. Within walking distance, there is a very good pub serving delicious food. Furthermore it is located nearby villages, farm shop, bakery, shops, and beaches within 18 minutes.

We loved the cottage - it is full of character and in a lovely quiet village. It's very comfortable, and had pretty much all we needed (two adults plus a dog). We did some lovely short walks from the front door, and there are plenty more to come back for. Once the pub re-opens in July it will be great to have that within walking distance.
