Surrounded by coast and countryside, this delightful lodge on Dorset’s shoreline offers a wonderful, romantic retreat for outdoor-loving couples. Set in Chideock, close to Charmouth, the property is perfectly based for exploring the famous Jurassic Coast which is dotted with towns and villages exuding coastal charm. Traditional beach days are on the cards thanks to the likes of nearby Eype and Seatown (both within 3 miles). Ever popular Lyme Regis is just 6.5 miles along the coast and is a great spot to enjoy an afternoon - wander around the historic cobb harbour before exploring the many independent shops and galleries that line the pretty streets.

Connected to the owner’s home yet with privacy assured, this welcoming lodge greets you with its social heart – the open-plan lounge/diner. This homely room has a vaulted ceiling that adds to its character and offers cosy seating for relaxing in front of the Smart TV. The comfy sofa folds out as a double bed (to be arranged at time of booking), while the nearby dining table is where you’ll gather to enjoy seafood feasts cooked up in the well-appointed kitchen in the next room. Here, find all you’ll need for a self-catered stay. When day turns to night, head to the chic king-size bedroom where soft linens and another Smart TV invite lazy mornings under the covers. Completing the interior is a well-appointed shower room – perfect for washing away the salt after days on the beach.

Head outside to find a path, with a few steps, leading beside the lodge to a fabulous patio area with views over the surrounding hills. Here, outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ beckon al fresco meals on balmy evenings.

We arrived at Peasants Lodge & was greeted by Erica & Charlie who were very friendly & accommodating. The Lodge itself was very nicely decorated & furnished with everything needed for our stay. The King size bed was very welcoming after lots of walking & hill climbing. The edition of milk, juice, biscuits & some nicely chilled water was a nice thouRead moreght. The back patio had a great countryside view with visits from pheasants, birds & squirrels. Pheasants Lodge is in a great location for visiting many local areas & if you wanted travel further out. A modern, and spacious cottage attached to the owners accomodation. Many items provided minimising the need to brig the kitchen sink, including but not limited to towels, bedding, kitchen aids galore, a welcome selection of goodies (thoughtful). Great king size bed. Easy parking off the A35 road. (Not unduly noisy) Hot water and heating on demand. Read moreSwathes of fields and woods beyond at the rear of the property, where Deer and Pheasants romed at will. An excellent package at a reasonable cost. Hide

A lovely little Lodge with a private setting, including a private sun-drenched patio (when the sun is out). Well positioned to explore the Jurassic coast. We found some lovely places to explore and plenty of places to walk and eat out. We would definitely rebook in the future.

The cottage is quite small but so comfortable for two. The main feature are I suppose a comfortable bed, great internet connection, local restaurants, shopping close by, near the beach and above all really pleasant friendly owners. We have no hesitation recommending the property to anyone who may wish to stay in this area.

We couldnt fault the cottage. So comfortable, clean, quiet, beautifully presented in a great location. Amazing views and such a lovely terrace garden. The owners communicated well and responded quickly. Very comfortable accommodation and lovely hosts. In a good position for exploring along the coast in both directions. The bus stops not too far down the road with a steep walk back up the hill but if we can do it anyone can!
