On the edge of the Quantock Hills, this charming two-bedroom lodge offers a perfect escape for a couple or a family, surrounded by endless natural beauty and an array of activities right on the doorstep. The West Somerset town of Watchet is just 2 miles away, a lesser-known destination that makes an excellent base for an unforgettable holiday. Stroll along its marina and the Old Port, and explore the independently owned shops, eateries and pubs dotted along its quaint streets. Between here and there, Doniford Beach (1 mile) is ideal for fossil hunting and walks along the rugged seafront. Take a coastal walk to St Audrie’s Waterfall (0.5 miles) to admire its impressive cascade. You’re perfectly positioned between the Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park (both less than 5 miles away), opening up a wealth of walking routes, cycling trails and memorable days out, including hikes amongst the famed Exmoor ponies. This handsome wooden lodge welcomes you with homely decor and cosy furnishings, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout. Vaulted ceilings and sturdy beams give the rooms a traditional charm, while garden or countryside views from most windows serve as a constant reminder of your peaceful countryside setting.

Step inside via the hallway, where coats and boots can be left behind, and head into the two bedrooms – one double and one twin – each snug and welcoming. Off the hallway, you’ll also find a wet room-style shower room, as well as access to the kitchen. The kitchen/diner is spacious and well equipped, with everything you need to cater for four, and a charming breakfast table for enjoying meals together. Adjacent to this, the lounge is equally inviting, with ample comfortable seating and a Smart TV for your evening entertainment. When the sun shines, throw open the French doors and let the lounge flow out onto the raised decking. This decked area boasts incredible views, a set of outdoor furniture – the perfect spot to unwind on a summer evening.

Set in a tucked away position within the grounds of the owner's home where you are welcome to enjoy the attractively fully enclosed landscaped shared gardens. Across from the property are 30 acres of surrounding woodland with permissive rights to roam. There is private parking for one car.

Beautiful lodge, decorated nice, clean. The views of the hills and horses, also very pleasent. The host is also very lovely. We did book and pay for this when it said it was increased accessibility, with doors wide enough to fit standard wheelchair. I think this has now changed. we did have a wheelchair user. And unfortunately it wasn't wheelchRead moreair user friendly. The host kind of said this when we arrived. Big step into property, beds too high and no handrail( or anywhere) to hold for the toilet. Wheelchair user did end up going home early. Lodge is right next to a busy road, so very loud in the twin bedroom. The hosts house is on the property, and they feed their horses very early in the morning, we actually enjoyed watchng this, but the horses were loud and it woke us up and something like 6.30 am. Parking was good, short drive to Watchet and minehead. A restaurant near by. Host supplied bread milk and butter, and wine. Cooker was easy to use. Good size fridge too. Living room is very comfy, smart TV easy to use. We would stay here again if it was more accessible. Hide

NOT in any way increased accessibility. Gravel driveway is no good for wheelchairs, narrow pathway to entrance likewise, big threshold to entrance and no ramps, no grab rails in wet room. Thank you for your feedback. I can confirm that the property listing has been updated to reflect the facilities that are offered and we would be happy to discusRead mores the suitability of the property with any prospective guests prior to booking. A warm welcoming cosy lodge located on the owner's property with a separate entrance and self contained garden for your 4 legged friends. The lodge was clean and comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, a microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine. Milk, butter and a cake cake were very kindly awaiting ourRead more arrival. Just across the road are woods for walks with the dogs. We enjoyed our stay at the lodge immensely and would definitely recommend it. Hide
