Set on the fringes of Mount Hawke in North Cornwall, this beautifully appointed lodge boasts woodland walks from the doorstep and easy access to the region’s golden coastline. Sleeping four guests and offering flexible sleeping arrangements, this is the perfect base for couples and small families exploring Cornwall’s best beaches and rolling countryside. The sandy village of Porthtowan (1.5 miles) invites you to explore its choice of places to eat and drink before venturing further to Porthtowan Beach (2 miles) to unwind on its golden sands, explore the rock pools, and discover its enchanting mermaid pool, which emerges at low tide. Up the coast, the village of St Agnes (3 miles) serves as the gateway to the St Agnes Heritage Coast, where dramatic walking trails, hidden coves, and more sandy beaches await. Further afield, popular destinations include St Ives, Carbis Bay, Perranporth, and Newquay (all within 20.5 miles).

Before stepping into this welcoming Cornish lodge, take a moment to savour its sleek, wood-clad design and the surrounding greenery that sets the scene for a peaceful countryside break. Head inside, kick off sandy walking shoes in the hallway, and be greeted by the social heart of the home — the open-plan living space. This chic room combines a well-appointed kitchen with a dining space and restful lounge, complete with underfloor heating and far-reaching rural views. Unwind in the lounge after days of adventure; sink into the soft seating, flick on the Smart TV, and fire up the wood burner during the chillier months. When it’s time to eat, you’ll find everything needed in the kitchen for cooking up classic Cornish feasts, which can be enjoyed at the dining table inside or al fresco out in the patio garden. At the end of each memorable day away, head over to the other side of the lodge and take your pick from two inviting bedrooms: a master king-size room and a flexible double bedroom that converts to two small singles on request. Serving the bedrooms and completing the lodge is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The outdoor space is one of the highlights of the property, offering a scenic and peaceful place to unwind between your excursions. When the sun shines, gather around the outdoor seating and fire up the charcoal BBQ for an al fresco feast. While you sizzle dinner on the grill, little ones will enjoy a game of table tennis. You’ll also find an outdoor shower, perfect for rinsing off the sand, as well as a private hot tub, ideal for bubbling in as the stars emerge above. There’s private parking for two cars, making your arrival and Cornish day trips a breeze.
