This stylish holiday retreat is set in the quaint village of Penycae, in north-east Wales, close to Wrexham. The property sleeps six guests, with its rural location making it the perfect choice for families and friends looking to embrace nature and enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities. Located on the edge of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape, it’s a paradise for keen walkers and cyclists, thanks to the network of scenic trails across its heather-clad hills. The picturesque, riverside town of Llangollen is 6.5 miles away and is a popular starting point for numerous walking routes. Afterwards, refuel in one of the town’s charming tearooms or cosy pubs. For those seeking high-octane activities, you’ll find white-water rafting on the nearby River Dee and exhilarating mountain bike tracks through Coed Llandegla Forest (12 miles). There are some excellent local attractions within easy reach, including the National Trust fortress, Chirk Castle (8 miles) and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (3 miles).

The two-storey holiday home is warm and inviting, with carefully chosen furniture and accessories to make you feel at home. Wooden floors, oak beams, and neutral walls bring a sense of calm, whilst little pops of colour in the soft furnishings add personality to each area. Enter the property into the spacious open-plan kitchen/diner. This is the social hub of the house, where you’ll find everything needed to whip up delicious dinners for the family and a large dining table to seat everyone. After dinner, retire to the inviting lounge to fire up the wood burner and enjoy a movie night around the Smart TV. Also on the ground floor is a beautiful double bedroom and a sleek shower room. Rounding off this level is a handy utility room which provides access to the garden area. Upstairs, discover two tranquil bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – both with en-suite shower rooms, providing that extra touch of privacy for groups. Please note, these rooms are set in the eaves, with restricted head height in some areas.

Outside, the enclosed garden is a highlight, with a lovely patio area, outdoor dining table and chairs, BBQ, and a large lawn – perfect for children to play safely. For those who enjoy outdoor adventures, there's a locked storage area for bikes, and with three private parking spaces, there's plenty of room for the whole family to come and go with ease.
