As you enter the property you are welcomed into a good-sized area with space for storing shoes and coats and the main living areas lead from here. The open plan lounge/diner offers two comfortable three-seater sofas centred around the TV with a Freeview package. There is a dining table for six at the other end of the room allowing plenty of space for dining as a group or playing board games with drinks and nibbles. The kitchen is adjacent to the lounge and benefits from a gas oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine plus all your basic cookware and utensils to whip up a hearty breakfast or light supper to end your day. The first bedroom is just down the hall from here with a king-size bed, small TV and ample storage for clothes, belongings and cases. Opposite the king-size room is the family bathroom with a bath, shower, and WC. Take the stairs up from the hallway onto the second floor and you will find a further two bedrooms. This property was a disaster from day 1, but we had to put up with it because we couldn't afford to find anywhere else. The living room and top-floor bedroom were ok. Just don't be fooled by the living room brochure images, shower upstairs, you get barely a trickle of water, basically useless, the toilet cistern was constantly needing attention, asRead more was the one in the downstairs loo. The door on the shower cubicle on the first floor doesn't close, and there is bare metal on the door frame. There is a rusty screw sticking out from the bath panel, and the floor looks dirty. The kitchen is a total disaster area. The integral fridge door doesn't work so watch your fingers when trying to open the door. The inside of the cooker was filthy; there was no grill pan, but we found it a bit later, hidden in a cupboard. And that was even worse, it was covered in old, thick fat and smelled awful. This had been there since at least April, as it had been reported before. On checking other cooking pots and pans, we found more of the same, covered in grease & filth. All this meant we had to choose our meals for the fortnight wisely, as we had no intentions of using any of the filthy things that had been left for us. As there was no grill pan for cooking toast, we tried the toaster, that doesnt work. There is mould or some black stuff behind the kitchen taps There are 2 smoke alarms fitted in the property, neither of which works when we tested them, there should be 2 carbon monoxide alarms one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, we found the one by the boiler one of the batteries had corroded so bad it's welded itself to the unit, totally useless, and looking at the boiler, it doesnt look as if it's been seviced in years. Inside one of the folders by the microwave, we found a letter, and unless the owner has acted recently, there is no TV Licence on the property. We tried phoning the owner and got no reply. So we complained to HolidayCottages, they contacted the owner, who told them he would phone me later that day, but he never phoned ...I shall be putting in a formal complaint on this property, along with photos and videos. And to top it all, they have a damage deposit off you, and then you walk into that mess. There are probably more things I've missed, but you get the general picture, nice location, and that's about it. Hide

Lovely flat in a great location BUT the pans for the oven were filthy, cups were dirty, cutlery drawer had lots of crumbs. The bath panel had a rusty screw sticking out on the bottom in the centre, both toilets need looking at as you had to lift the cistern lid and push the contraption inside down to enable the cistern to refill (I did speak to thRead moree owner about this and he said he would call a plumber but we didnt want the inconvenience) and the boiler was completely switched off when we arrived again I had to speak to owner to about turning it on. Such a shame as the flat is lovely and if these things were rectified I would recommend. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we will discuss this with the owner. Hide

The flat is in a superb location, good for beaches, town and station. The layout is good for families. The two bathrooms mean grandparents can be on the 1st floor with parents and children on the top floor. Its well equipped so you can stay in comfortably or go out as the weather dictates. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend.
