In Marches country near Beguildy with pub and shop with post office. Close to medieval Clun, and market towns of Knighton, Bishop’s Castle, Montgomery, Ludlow and Presteigne . Newtown on the banks of the Severn is close by too. Enjoy a wide variety of eateries, independent shops, museums and galleries, quality plant nurseries and independent breweries. Explore 80,000 acres of remote common land and the Teme Valley offering a wide variety of bird life and animals. Walk Glyndwr’s Way and Offa’s Dyke National Trails, or one of the many footpaths, cycle routes and bridle ways through the beautiful Welsh countryside and enchanting Shropshire Hills. This stylish historic byre and stable, refurbished in 2019, has been designed to create a home from home experience with exposed beams, high ceilings and underfloor heating. On entering the property there’s plenty of space for your boots and to hang up your coats. Natural light floods the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner through the feature windows and doors with delightful views over the garden and beautiful countryside. Relax on the comfortable sofas in the lounge area, maybe watch a film on the TV/DVD, or enjoy a good book, nestled beside the cosy wood burner. If you decide to eat in, the kitchen has all the equipment you need with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, alongside thoughtful little extras creating a delightful space to prepare a meal. The dining table is ideally positioned by the picture window to enjoy a meal and plan your activities whilst enjoying the garden view. After a full day out choose from two contrasting bedrooms, one with a TV. There is one spacious double with en-suite shower room and WC and one family room with double bed and additional single bed on the quirky mezzanine level. Across the hall is the stylish shower room with shower and WC. There are lovely views from every window.

Outside, relax in the private garden with slate paths, decked area and patio, or enjoy al fresco dining with table and chairs. Relax in the hot tub on the patio, sit by the fire pit and relish the night sky in a region with no light pollution, it’s amazing. There is also plenty of space for bicycles, canoes, and private parking for two cars. Please note the owners live on site though privacy is assured.

We enjoyed our stay at Madoc Barn. The property is in a lovely quiet spot. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. The under floor heating made sure the property always felt warm and cosy. The hot tub was a nice addition and wonderful to use on an evening. The garden is beautiful and dog friendly, our dog loved it even with the odd passRead moreing sheep! There were places to walk her right on the doorstep which was very handy. What a fabulous spot and a wonderful host. Plenty of parking and space for 4 adults and 4 dogs. Perfect stay for our family, 4 adults, one 7 year old and 2 little dogs. Couldnt ask for anything more from the property, lovely location, clean comfortable, warm, excellent facilities, lovely hot tub, just had a wonderful time! Great location. Great views. Main room warm and cosy. Great sized hot tub. Great en-suite shower. Great enclosed garden for the dogs. Some maintenance needed with loose floor tiles, missing grout, light bulbs not working. This gave it more of a rustic charm rather than the luxury described in the advert. Secluded, with one track roads to gain access which was okay for us,as we have 4x4 .Parking a bit tight for one car.Cottage was nice,as is attached to owners property. But not for us unfortunately.

A very pleasant, well equipped Cottage. In a Farm so take appropriate footwear for Winter stays. We were lucky enough to see a snowy landscape which produced some great photos. What a wonderful break! I cannot fault our stay in any way. The cottage was perfect and very clean. Moira, the owner, was super friendly and even invited us to arrive early because it was such hot weather, she didn't want us to roast in the heat. The scenery is beautiful. Fabulous barn conversion with a view to die for! Perfect break to relax and detach from the craziness of life. An absolutely gorgeous place in the middle of nowhere which my wife, my dogs and I loved. Far away enough from civilisation to feel a million miles away from reality, but close enough to local amenities to not feel totally off the grid. Would highly recommend to anybody wanting to just get away from busy life and enjoy the countryside

The gardens are both small dog secure but bouncy larger dogs could clear the front fence. The rear garden has a high wall and fence. There is no lawn area. The use of the Christmas tree field is wonderful for early morning or late evening walks but be prepared for the odd sheep to have foundits way into this field. My partner and I had a really lovely and relaxing weekend at Madocs barn. Hot tub and under floor heating are great features. Fantastic scenery and plenty of choice for outdoor walks in the surrounding areas. Highly recommend.

Lovely stay with friends over New Year with 3 dogs. Comfortable cottage, underfloor heating was great as it was winter . The long drive off the road to the cottage isn't great in winter for a normal car due to pot holes. Views are amazing and the gardens are enclosed for dogs. Local pub doesn't allow dogs inside. We had the loveliest stay at madocs barn- we actually had a little mini moon here after our wedding and it couldnt have been more perfect! It was wonderful to switch off in the warm little cottage with the most amazing view of the Welsh hills! We loved that there were a great selection of DVDs to watch (rather than mindlessly scrolling through streRead moreaming channels) or reading our books next to the fire (which had ample amount of wood and fire lighters!) Perfect for Two couples as the rooms are at opposite ends of the property with your own bathroom/ensuite. We had three dogs with us and the loved the place. Two garden areas, one with a tall wall around, perfect for our foxhound x who loves to jump fences. Log burner was lovely in the evenings. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

A super dog friendly cottage. Spacious enough for my 3 large dogs. Great views. The 2 gardens were totally enclosed, although sheep do wander past 1 of the gardens and are visible, so I did keep an eye on my GSD when in that garden. The host is lovely but unobtrusive. An amazing cottage in an amazing position. We really enjoyed the hot tub and watching Red Kites soaring above us. The walled garden was great for the dogs, we were a bit worried about our small dogs trying to get out of the fenced side to get to the sheep but we loved the early morning sheep 'traffic jam' as they passed the cottage. Superb accommodation - functionality with style. Works as a base for exploring the surrounding area or simply as a place to spend time. It was a pleasure to return to at the end of each day - quiet, relaxing, and stress-free. The relative remoteness is a plus when it comes with such scenery.
