Seaside hotspot Polzeath is within striking distance; swim, surf, stroll on golden sands, then refuel at the village’s enticing choice of restaurants and bars. Join the South West Coast Path and walk around the Pentire Headland to catch a glimpse of the local seals and dolphins. On the other side of the headland, the sheltered cove at Port Quin is less than 1.5 miles from your doorstep. Shop for supplies and souvenirs at Port Isaac (5 miles), home of shanty singers Fisherman’s Friends and TV’s fictional Doc Martin. At the heart of the village is the harbour, where local fishermen land their daily catch and, at low tide, large rock pools are revealed.
