Situated close to the town centre of Brixham, on the picturesque English Riviera, this property makes a great place to enjoy a break in this popular part of South Devon. Sitting on the westerly side of Torbay, Brixham is principally a harbour town, with a traditional fishing industry still flourishing today. Visitors can join one of the numerous fishing trips from the harbour, or perhaps an enjoyable pleasure boat tour of the bay. There are several beaches within easy reach of the town centre, including the town’s main Breakwater Beach, Shoalstone Beach with its tidal pool, and the secluded beach at St Mary’s Bay. There is also a good range of shops in the town, as well as a number of well-regarded eateries, many of which specialise in the local seafood.

Up steps from the road level leads guest to the front door of this pretty cottage. The property has been arranged in reverse-level style so as to make best of the magnificent views, meaning that guests first come to the bedrooms on the property’s ground floor. Two of the property’s three bedrooms are here, the first of which is a twin room with fantastic harbour views, and the second being a bunk bedroom. The main bathroom located on this floor offers the best of both worlds, with a bath, separate shower cubicle, and WC. Stairs lead from the entrance hall up to the first floor, where the lounge, kitchen, and dining room are located. The cottage’s former life as a Seafarer’s cottage is much in evidence here, as one can well imagine how easy it was to check on the comings and goings in the harbour from the windows in the lounge. If guests can draw themselves away from the spectacular views, they may like to relax in front of the TV and DVD, or perhaps cosy up in front of the flame-effect gas fire. The dining room has a second TV, so there is no need for anyone to miss a favourite programme. The kitchen is well-equipped with a built-in electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, and washing machine, and has doors which open out onto a patio area. Steep cottage-style stairs lead to the second floor and the master bedroom suite, with its double bed, en-suite (which has a wash basin & WC), and of course, more of those magnificent views.

Outside, the property benefits from a steep terraced garden with a patio area from which steps lead up to a garden room and additional decked seating area. Bikes can safely be stored here. A further set of steep steps leads to the private off-road parking space.

A lovely location with amazing harbour and sea views. Lots to see in and around the area including some lovely dog friendly coves a short drive away. Our teens also loved going to the waterpark in Paignton a short drive away. We also loved watching the Dolphins from the top of Berry Head.

An amazing property with stunning views over the harbour and bay. You need to be fit and sure-footed as there are 45 steep steps down from the lofty parking place to the back door and those inside are narrow and twisty. But the cottage itself is comfortable, well equipped and full of delights. It is only a 10 minute walk to the harbour (a little loRead morenger to climb back up!) and there are four outside seating areas. The parking place is particularly useful, as well as having the greatest view! Hide

Fantastic week in this very well located holiday cottage in Brixham. Clean and well equipped, with fantastic view over the harbour. Bonus of an off road parking spot as well. Sunset cottage is beautifully positioned and well-equipped, with the outstanding advantage of its own parking spot - rare in Brixham. We enjoyed our stay, especially the many attractive pubs and restaurants, but we suffered a bit from a very cold and dull spell of February weather. In warmer seasons it must be superb. Lovely cottage in a perfect setting. Lots of steps so need to be mobile, but this added to the charm. The views are stunning whatever the weather, and we had it all. Rain, wind, fog, sun! Stunning view above the harbour. Very lovely place to expirience british cosiness in a pretty, little cottage. Sunsets are spectacular and eaay access to the city and surroundings like Greenway parks or Torquay. Best issue for drivers: very good parking at the house!

Superb location overlooking Brixham harbour, short but steep 5 minute wonder down the steps into town. Cottage was big enough for our family of six, two adults and four teenagers, although an extra shower would've been handy. Off street parking and all the facilities you would require. Excellent

We had a great stay in Brixham, lots to do and see. The steps everywhere are quite a challenge so be warned. The cottage could do with a little tlc but adequate for the stay.
