Y Stabl is finished and furnished to a high standard, and accommodates four in comfort. Situated alongside the owners’ farmhouse, the cottage is one of a group of three converted from former farm buildings. The village of Caersws, two miles away, has a petrol station and convenience store, pub and mainline railway station, as well as a small Art Gallery.

The cottage has gas central heating, WiFi is available and mobile reception is good.

Sitting Room: a good-sized room with leather sofas, electric flame-effect stove, FreeSat TV and DVD player.

Kitchen Diner: with electric oven and hob, extractor hood, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher; dining table and four chairs; a Welcome Tray is provided to welcome guests.

An open tread wooden staircase from the sitting room leads to:

Bedroom 1: with king size bed and FreeSat TV.

En Suite: with shower cubicle, extractor fan, basin, shaver light, WC and heated towel rail.

A steep paddle-tread staircases from the kitchen diner leads to:

Bedroom 2: a small room with double bed and FreeSat TV.

En Suite: with shower cubicle, WC, basin, shaver light, heated towel rail and extractor fan.

Parking: there is plenty of parking to the side of the cottage.

Outside: the cottage has its own patio table and chairs, with views over trees and hills to the rear of the property. 

Shared Facilities: Guests have use of facilities on the owners' small static caravan park - extensive shared grounds, a games room at the end of the row of cottages with table tennis and coin-operated pool table, and nearby laundry, payphone, and collection of books and games to borrow. 

There is coarse fishing in stocked pools on site (carp, tench and roach).  Nearby Newtown, six miles, has a range of shops and supermarkets, golf course, leisure centre, small cinema, gallery and museum.  Twenty miles east is Welshpool, with Powis Castle (NT) and Welshpool-Llanfair Caereinion Light Railway. This peaceful Mid Wales location provides easy access to Rhayader and the Elan Valley to the south, the historic town of Machynlleth and the south Snowdonia National Park to the north west. The coast at Aberystwyth or Aberdyfi is about an hour's drive away.

Cottage was wonderful even though the kitchen staircase was definitely a workout. There was everything we needed to make our holiday so comfortable. The fisherman in our party enjoyed his time spent on the ponds. Owners were friendly and helpful.

in an ideal world the stairs to the 2nd bedroom would be easy to climb.
