DAVID'S COTTAGE

Davids Cottage is just a few minutes’  walk away from the village centre and pathway leading to Croyde’s well-known surfing beach. Sleeping six people, this semi-detached cottage has been decorated and furnished in a contemporary style mixing characterful features with modern touches. A useful porch leads into a hallway which houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. This in turn leads into a light and airy dual-aspect kitchen/diner which has a beamed ceiling, tiled floor and large dining table capable of seating the whole party. The spacious living room, also with a beamed ceiling, has a delightful woodburning stove set into a stone fireplace – perfect for cooler evenings – and comfortable leather settees. There is a pretty downstairs double bedroom for anyone in the party who would prefer accommodation on one level. It benefits from French doors opening out onto a patio and lawned garden complete with outdoor furniture. A shower room completes the accommodation on the ground floor.  Upstairs there are three further bedrooms offering a variety of sleeping arrangements and a modern family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, there is parking for two cars and a central inner courtyard with an outside shower. The centre of Croyde with its shops, restaurants, cafes and of course the beach, is just a few minutes’ stroll from Davids Cottage. The beach in Croyde is one of North Devon’s most beautiful - a horse shoe bay of golden sand backed by dunes and lapped by the surf of the Atlantic Ocean.  It is popular all year round for surfing and the RNLI are there from May until September, throughout the Easter weekend plus October half term. There are rocks at either end of the beach providing pools full of hidden gems for children to explore.  The nearby National Trust headland of Baggy Point is popular with walkers.

David's Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage in a perfect area of North Devon for a quiet holiday break. Fully equipped with everything from a tumble dryer and crib to under floor heating and a bbq. We spent time enjoying the peace and quiet in its secluded garden then moving on to the local towns for a wander and ending our evenings eating in the locaRead morel pubs. Just a 2 minute walk away, The Thatch and Blue Groove were excellent for food and drinks. The open log fire warmed the Cottage quickly in the evening. With beautiful beaches and coastal walks a short walk or drive away it was a wonderful retreat. Hide

We have been staying at Davids Cottage for many years and treat it like a second home, the location is perfect for the local shops and dining places.

Lovely cottage to stay at. It is in a quiet area, which suited us so well. Easy access to the local town and a relatively short walk to the beach was a bonus. The cottage itself was so well equipped, which made life so easy there!!! We enjoyed using the garden, as well, but the whole week was exactly what we wanted.

Great location for family holidays, a premium price for school holidays but was still reasonable. Good standards were achieved throughout.
