Appledore, is where boats bob in the town’s quay, and where there are range of tempting eateries to choose from. In the summer months, a ferry runs across the estuary to the village of Instow, home to a yacht club and a pleasant partially sandy beach, alternatively it is just a short drive away. A larger beach, the two-mile wide stretch of sand at Westward Ho! is just three miles away, whilst the harbour town of Bideford, with its charming cobbled streets, well regarded restaurants, and treasure trove of shops lies just four miles to the south.

As soon as guests enter this property, they will immediately get a feel for how homely and welcoming the cottage feels. The lounge/diner perfectly demonstrates this, with exposed beams, wood burner, wooden floor and comfortable seating. The Freeview TV/DVD and Bluetooth speaker means that guests can happily relax and enjoy cosy nights in, after long days of exploring. The kitchen is located just off the lounge/diner, and is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and a washing machine, giving guests the choice of whether they want to cook or go out and enjoy the village’s restaurants and pubs. There is a steep set of open-tread stairs which lead from the ground floor up to the first floor accommodation. Here, they will find a lovely double room with feature fireplace. There is also a snug room on the first floor, which offers guests a fantastic place to sit back with a book and enjoy this room’s stunning views across the estuary and out to sea. There is a shower room with shower and WC.

Lovely little cottage right in the heart of Appledore we always stay in this street . If it had a garden it would be perfect as we have three dogs but we knew it didnt when we booked so no reflection on the cottage , we would stay there again

The street the cottage is on forms part of the coastal path and can get very busy, so be prepared for alot of noise from the street and people nosing in the windows! And people going to / coming back from the pubs at the end. If you don't mind the noise then its a good little cottage as a base to explore the area. Would recommend the walks to BidRead moreeford and to Westward Ho! Hide

The cottage was perfect! There's nothing we would've changed, it was a great price, great location and had everything we needed. The log fire was perfect for a cosy night in and the bed was very comfy. We'd definitely come back for another stay.

there are some charming features to this cottage, decor is fresh and pretty. The upstairs snug area is very pleasant. The bedding and towels are really good quality. The stairs were challenging for me, but I was properly warned. The location is perfect.

Lovely little comfy (especially the sofa and bed) cottage, very well equipped has everything you need on holiday. Great location for exploring. The snug was a great area as an extra room. As stated no outside area and the stairs are very steep, but we knew this and it was fine. Grass for the dog just up the road.

Super little cottage in a convenient location kept in a lovely condition by the owner and caretaker. The road from the nearby carpark is level and at 30 a week was ideal, The wood burning stove made the sitting room very cosy on wet autumn evenings.
