This stone-built cottage is tucked away in the pretty village of Catterick. It’s a wonderful option for anyone who wants to explore all the tranquillity of rural Yorkshire. The village offers a traditional pub, a supermarket, a selection of takeaways and a lovely village green with a beck running through it. Situated on the outskirts of Richmond (5.5 miles), it's in the perfect location to explore the Norman castle, discover Easby Abbey ruins or browse the Saturday market. Stop off for tea and cake at the historic disused railway station where you will also find a two-screen cinema, a brewery, an artisan deli, and an ice cream parlour. Get the family together for a day out at Kiplin Hall and Gardens (6 miles). There, you can wander through the hall’s grand rooms, take a stroll around the lake, stop to smell the flowers in the walled gardens and treat yourself to something delicious in the tearoom.

This beautifully presented cottage set to the side of the village green offers cosy interiors and well-presented accommodation. Step inside this gorgeous traditional cottage and kick off your shoes in the welcoming hallway where there’s plenty of storage space for your outdoor gear. Make your way through to the lounge and sink into the sofa, soaking up the views over the garden. When it’s time to eat, head to the farmhouse-style kitchen to rustle up some dinner for your group; you’ll find everything you need to create a fabulous feast. Gather everyone around the table in the dining room and plan your next adventures over dinner before retreating to the lounge and lighting up the wood burner for a cosy night of film-watching on the Smart TV. A useful utility room just off the kitchen hides away the washing machine and tumble dryer and there's also a convenient downstairs WC. Upstairs, there are three spacious bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite shower room and WC, a double with an en-suite shower and WC, and another double. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and WC – ideal for a long soak after a day’s walking.

We all loved the cottage. The welcome pack was better than average and included the dogs, who totally enjoyed their own separate packs. The cottage was clean and well equiped, definitely a home from home. The location was great for visiting many local tourist places and had some lovely walks close to the cottage.

Excellent high walled, large, dog friendly garden with lovely lake walks from door. Super clean and very well equipped cottage, with much better than average welcome pack. Great setting on the edge of the Village Green with a welcoming pub, (Quiz night Thurs). Also 3 very good takeaways and village shop all less than 5 mins walk from cottage.
