The house lies right at the heart of Ludlow’s historic centre, a location noted for its abundance of cafes, pubs, restaurants, independent shops, and a weekly food market which is not to be missed. This vibrant town offers a year-round events calendar celebrating food, crafts and theatre; with highlights throughout the year such as the Ludlow Fringe Festival in June and July, the September Food Festival and the Medieval Christmas Fayre held at the end of November. The house stands close to the town’s magnificent Assembly Rooms offering film, theatre and other events. If you are after some outdoor adventure, put on your hiking boots and head out to Mortimer Forest or on to the Shropshire Hills. It's just a short stroll from your doorstep out of the town into some stunning countryside and local walks. The River Teme is less than half a mile away and offers some lovely riverside walks and a stretch of about half a mile of free fishing. There's much to see in the area such as the National Trust's Berrington Hall and Croft Ambrey Castle, as well as Stokesay Castle, Clun Castle, Wigmore Castle, Wenlock Priory and the Severn Valley Railway. The town is surrounded by magnificent countryside and a wealth of attractive villages and walking opportunities.

Step into this fabulous Grade II-listed residence, built in 1713, full of original features with wooden floors, beams, feature fireplaces and views over the town and towards the castle on the top floor. On the ground floor is the spacious kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with an AGA, electric hob, fridge, microwave, slow cooker, electric oven and dishwasher. This is a lovely space to create a meal with views over the garden, and the dining table is perfectly positioned by the feature fireplace with space for everyone to gather around and enjoy a leisurely meal together. You will find the washing machine and freezer in the rather special utility room in the garden. After dinner, head upstairs to the spacious lounge with comfortable sofas, chairs and a Smart TV, with original wooden sloping floors and a period feature fireplace (ornamental only - no working fires).

Walk through to the drawing room with elegant seating and a library. When ready for bed, head upstairs to the third and fourth floors and choose from three bedrooms. On the top upper storey area, you will find a spacious quirky room with a double bed, TV/DVD and a dressing room. Head down a flight of stairs to another double and on the same floor is the spacious double with an additional single bed. Enjoy a leisurely bubble bath in the bathroom and WC or take a leisurely shower in the shower room with WC.

Outside, you have the pretty paved courtyard with a bistro table and chairs, and utility room. It is fully enclosed and ideal for your four-legged friend. The garden is perfect for morning coffee and al fresco dining whatever the time of day. Guests are provided with a free resident's pass for one car for on-street parking outside the house with further parking in public car parks nearby for any additional cars (charges apply). There are two EV charging points 10 metres from the front door.

A comfortable house in which we spent a lovely Christmas. It is in a most desirable position right up by the square and the castle. The living room is especially comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.

This is a beautiful house, very clean and well cared-for. There is lots of room and the beds are extremely comfortable. Bed-linen and towels are good quality, and smell freshly-washed, rather than of fabric conditioner. There are also no nasty perfume-producing gadgets in the plug-sockets; so welcome for anyone with hay-fever or asthma. Ideal central location for shops and market, & only 10 minutes walk to the train station. Very comfortable well equipped house, useful to have a work area we could leave the laptop set up in. Pub next door did not disturb us, and serves a nice pint. Some interesting walks in the surrounding areas too.
