Situated in the rural village of Mellor which boasts three pubs and a golf club. It is ideally located close to some of Cheshire and Derbyshire’s finest countryside with a range of walks, woods and wild moorland on your doorstep. Tarden Farm is a working riding stables catering for experienced riders with direct access to a network of public footpaths and bridleways. Nearby Marple Bridge, New Mills and Marple offer a selection of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Popular cycle trails are within 3 miles, Lyme Park is 5 miles, and attractions such as RHS Bridgewater, Buxton, Edale, Chatsworth House and Castleton can be reached within 26 miles. Manchester is 12 miles away with a direct train from Marple. Located on the GM ringway between stages 6 and 7. 

Step into the hallway which offers space to store your muddy boots and waterproofs, and head through to the kitchen/diner which offers everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal during your stay, including a range style oven with gas hob , dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine/tumble dryer. The property also benefits from cosy underfloor heating on the ground floor as well as the bathrooms. Come together to share your meal around the lovely dining table. There is a handy downstairs WC nearby. Heading up to the first floor you will find the beautiful lounge, with comfortably stylish seating so you can put your feet up and lose yourself in a good book. There is a smart TV and wood burner, perfect for those chillier evenings to snuggle up in front of. The second floor offers a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room with WC, twin bedroom, and a bunk bedroom. There is also a family bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside enjoy relaxing in the enclosed garden with lovely countryside views and pretty cottage garden-style surroundings. Dine alfresco with outdoor seating and make the most of long summer evenings. There is off-road parking for three cars.

Beautiful, well-appointed cottage with a gorgeous garden and breathtaking views. It's in a pretty, rural location with plenty to keep our family of four busy all week. We received a warm welcome from the owners who are absolutely lovely. Thanks for a super stay!

Wonderful half-term week with the family. Gorgeous cottage, supremely clean and tidy with everything we needed, so comfortable. Lovely gastro pubs in Mellor, ASDA a short drive away, free parking at Marple station and easy train journey into Manchester. Close to fabulous Peak District scenery and walks. This was the second time we have spent at Tarden. The cottage was dressed magnificently for the season! Warm cosy, so well equipped! A great deal to be admired and enjoyed. Tarden house is a complete gem. We had a wonderful family Christmas here and had everything we needed to cook Christmas lunch. Tarden House is a comfortable, characterful cottage, one of the best weve ever stayed in. The enclosed garden was beautiful & there was also a sunny seating area just outside the cottage. Tarden house is a gorgeous property, in a picturesque setting. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the property met all our needs. The facilities are excellent and there was nothing else we could have wished for. The location is not far from Marple Bridge which has shops (including an Asda!) for your every day needs and about a 30-40 miRead morenute car ride into the centre of Manchester.
